I’m donating because of UI/firmware development. Or at least, mostly for that. She’s put TONS of time and effort into improving this hobby that we all enjoy, going back years well before the FW3A issues, and I’m grateful for that. I mean, I’m also glad she salvaged the FW3A when the others disappeared, so I guess its a package deal, but that’s not the only reason she deserves our support.
I think the point I’m trying to make is that sending a one-time “tip” for helping make the FW3A happen is fine and good and will be appreciated by her, I’m sure. So I hope everyone who appreciates her help keeping that project alive and are in a position to donate, do so. But I, for one, like the Patreon model because I know she’s going to continue doing great things here well beyond the FW3A and this allows those of us who want to, to continue supporting her work going forward, unrelated to the FW3A.
But seriously, thanks to everyone who signed up. It really means a lot. I just don’t know how to graciously accept things like this, so it’s easier to make bad jokes.
You're right. It's so easy to not remember the early ones that began plowing a new path. There are probably others I should have mentioned too. STAR by JonnyC, etc. I remember learning how to flash because of the FW that Tido put out there for all to use and build on. I wasn't around the whole time that Tido was contributing to the hobby. So I don't have a good sense of how much time and effort he exerted. TK on the other hand has been contributing in big ways most of the time I have been here. I especially recall her (and another whose name escapes me at the moment) spending lots of time packing tons of code into tiny13a. Then, all the time and effort she has contributed into FW so many of us enjoy now.
Thanks for everything that you contribute to the community ToyKeeper. As a part of my commitment to this community, I will fund ToyKeeper for 1 year at $250 a month. I have also made small contributions to various forum contributors. Thanks everyone.
Yes can confirm my Reflow Oven GoFundMe was hittting from 1% to 101% of the targeted 500€ goal
never thought it would hit more than 20% after a year or so
and more lab equipment is coming, just bought a couple of hours before that donation a dead cheap but brand new Fluke 8845A from Amazon for 52% of the noarmal lowest price here in Europe looking through price search machines
.
.
fingers crossed for 4 hours to get a shipment notification not order cancellation
.
and went back to usual Amazon price, hoped more could snatch such a dead cheap offer posting on Microcontroller forum
Daaaayum… I didn’t see that one coming. I actually thought it was a typo.
That will definitely help a lot with the things I need to get done. For example, adding tiny1634 support so we can have more pins and more ROM, to handle more aux LEDs and buttons and such. That’s one of the things I’m working on today.
Okay, I’m looking through the levels, and the $200/month level says You should probably just hire me and below, in the description, says
Now, I’m not rich enough to do that much per month for too long, but I’m curious how much time and/or project that level would buy. I do have some things in mind, and if it turns out to be worth it, I might jump in. I don’t want to expect too much but at the same time, I want to know how much can reasonably be expected. Can we get some basic parameters here? :innocent:
Thanks, Lexel. You already do so many different drivers and other things, I’m surprised you’re still willing to take on more “custom” work, even for money.
