I’ll run this through my test script to check it. Even if the script reports failed cases, it looks pretty close. I expect there should be at least one solution which can identify the fake but can’t determine whether it’s lighter or heavier… but at a glance, I’m not totally sure if you’ve found such a thing or not.[/quote]

I thought the specification said we only needed to identify the coin, not necessarily determine light or heavy. The only stone which I could identify as the misfit but not classify as light or heavy would be 13 since I never weighed it. I could fix that and then I’d need to use the dummy weight.

Third time’s the charm.

Yeh, just 4 and I was working to 12 diamonds. After seeing Dan’s first 2 answers I went back and checked mine again and of course discovered it was flawed. I was only half heartedly thinking about it then. Luckily at that point I got save… err … I mean distracted by the family  The more I look at it the more I come to the conclusion it’s out of my league

Well put, I signed up here for GB deal but I enjoy some of the banter that goes on around here, and I’ve learned a thing or two. The collaborative nature of the projects and the friendly environment is why I keep coming back. You and all those involved who keep BLF what is right now is very much appreciated.

I remember this puzzle from 40 years or so ago. It’s been decades since I did it but I seem to recall coming up with 2 different solutions to it. Then again I could be wrong there :stuck_out_tongue:

4 on each side of scale. If balanced then the 4 left has the odd diamond and those 8 are neutrals. Then 3 neutrals and three of the 4 left are weighed. If balanced the one remaining is the odd one. If unbalanced (you will now know if its light or heavy)take two neutrals and one of the 3 left on each side of the scale. If balanced the remaining one is it. Unbalanced the one that is heavier or lighter is the one.

If the scale on the first weigh is unbalanced the remaining 4 are your neutrals. Then I have no clue how to find the odd one in two more weighings.

From the chart, FD2 could be a great tint. Yay! Can’t wait to see it in person.

I agree, FD2 looks like it’ll be a great tint. :+1:

Just curious (not trying to ‘stir the pot’ or cause any chaos. I don’t mind another few month wait) : how many lights actually existed [in their retail packaging, ready to ship out] when the sale went live?

I’m pretty sure that ’exact number’ is unknown to anyone here on BLF & will likely remain that way.

But this should give some idea. It was stated that Neal had ‘some’ on hand & LT would be delivering 200 more that would be shipped out after the Holiday. Besides that, unknown.

I’ll try & find that post about “some onhand & 200 more”. I’ll post it when I do.

Edit:

Ordered 1! Thank you.

Seems like a small number then. Does that mean good news for the firmware bug? That it’s limited to “some on hand and 200 more”? Or is there a huge stockpile of drivers, all with the FW bug and the exact lot of lights each of ours come from won’t matter in that regard, they’ll all be effected?

about 400pcs 3D version were shipped
another 300pcs 3D will ship before May 5th
and others 7A and 3D should ship from 8th.

first batch 7A 330pcs nearly sold out,so it will be better to choose the 3D version or wait for the SST20 version

/\ I have no idea. See my above edit in my post. That is all I know.

Edit: Neal has answered the question. :+1:

@ TrueRMS

What “firmware bug” are you referring to?

This one

That is not a “firmware bug” ’to me’.
That is basically nothing… a non-issue ’to me’.
It could even be called a ‘feature’.

Edit to add: ’to me’

Seems like it is an issue if TK herself pointed it out as an example of how to report a bug and stated it had been resolved in a later revision…

A big issue, no definitely not, but to claim “it’s a non issue” sounds a little stand-offish

Personally I only use the stepped mode and I often hold to start from low and step up to the level I want (this is also how I instruct people to use anduril lights I hand them) so I fully expect to run into this bug.

I’m not trying to be negative, I read that other thread before making my purchase. Just asking if the lights not yet produced will have the same exact FW on them or if they’ll be updated to the already published newer version with the bug fix for this particular issue.

I’m not going to argue the point.

’To me’ it is a total & complete “non-issue”… I should have said that in my post above. Sorry I didn’t, my bad. :person_facepalming:

Whatever it is to you is fine with me. :+1:

I understand it may be an issue to you. To me it is not. My apology if I seemed insensative to your plight

Edit: I fixed my post above to include ’to me’.

I actually ran into that bug several times, since I like the stepped ramp mode.

For me it pops up often when I’m in relative darkness and don’t remember what mode I used previously. I know that the lowest moonlight mode will not be bright enough, but don’t want to take the risk of blinding myself by just switching the light on at the memorized mode. So I press and hold the switch to bring it to moonlight and immediately release and press again to go one or two steps brighter to a usable mode. But the light doesn’t react to the press.
