[4K Review] Haikelite MT09R v2 - 25,000 lumens

Updated model.

aparts switch and blue bezel, all the rest is the same torch.!

That’s a downgrade actually.
They should have made the “quality” to match the better made MT03 and not waste their time implementing this cosmetic bullshit.

The original MT09R had a “TA like” driver but had a bunch of problems. Later Hakelite hired Texas_Ace to design a real TA driver. TA also offered them a number of other suggestions to improve the light. I have the MT09R V1 modded by TA and it is an incredible flashlight. Very useful beam that is both floody and throwy.

Nice review again. An impressive flashlight too.

The music must be Pink Floyd, but one of the albums I do not own?

Does this updated model still have the fake FET and MCU chips on the driver?

Yep.

Same distributor selling counterfeit parts to Haikelite thinking they are legit = Slightly underperforming FET, and in the worst of cases, death in spring bypasses.

How do you know this is the case with the latest V2 model?

Well, because Flashaholics measured 17-18k lumens with his light at 30 seconds, not 21k lumens at 30 seconds at the least.

Hmmm… There’s logic in that, but seems a bit tricky to me to conclude Haikelite is using the same old inferior FET. MSRP of this light is certainly quite some $ less than the original MT09R; maybe it has a different driver as well?

Still using the same FET+resistor driver as the original, as Texas Ace told me.

I recall TA mentioning that not too long ago, but I was under the impression he was talking about the original MT09R (updated with TA driver), and not the new one with the blue bezel and golden button.

It’s from the 1972 live at Pompeii DVD.

:+1: when it was on tv a couple of years ago, I enjoyed that a lot. But I never bought it.
