WTS: DRILLED OPTICS - 10507 / 10508 / 10509 / 10511

I do not. There isn’t enough demand for it to justify making a jig to drill the quad optics. Sorry.

I would like 4 - 10507’s and 1 - 10511. Please PM me a total for Paypal.

Thanks

:-/ I used to run a CNC machine that could have done this easily… and I have a D4.

Just to bump this thread, can’t wait to get my package!

Will these work in the fw3a?

Those in FW and these are the same…

Yep they will! Pm me if you need one.

I have an FW3 on the way so I would like one. Please pm with cost for shipping to Canada. I already have trits.

It may be obvious to some, but what is the difference in (or between) the frosted versions vs the clear…ie. other than aesthetics, how or does it affect the lights beam? I am not sure which to choose.

TY

This photo might help:

Most popular is the clear (10507) or narrow frosted (10511).
The med and wide frosted lenses are great if you use your light for a lot of close range work but it does diminish the output a tad.

It depends on your LED choice too.

Samsung LH351D and Nichia 219C both look good with 10507 and 10511 (IMO)

XP-L HI has a slight star burst pattern on the edge of the corona using 10507. Outdoors you wont notice but indoors or against a white wall you will. All other optics should be fine.

SST-20 is even worse star burst pattern so unless all you do is “point” at objects in the distance and want the most throw possible you should probably not choose 10507 but any other should be fine.

As azhu mentioned, if you want a medium or wide beam for close work then those are the obvious choices and should look great with any LED.

Got my order today. Excellent packing and the trits are a perfect fit. Without a jig and drill press there’s no way someone could replicate this by hand.

Even if you had a drill press, it would have o be a high quality one, or a little electric pcb drill.
It is doable by hand for sure, but would take a fairly long time, a steady hand and a lot of patience.
I would use one of these with a nice sharp new drill

It’s drilled with a smaller bit too so you can push out the trit if you need

Nice.

That’s neat, I have never seen one that small. :open_mouth: . I’m assuming it is pretty small anyway.

Dang, those tritium pieces are expensive in my opinion. Just didn’t realize the cost.

Yes they are good and surprisingly powerful, you hold the little collar at the bottom above the chuck to steady it and just push up and down - you probably guessed that bit though lol!
They only go up to around 3mm drill, or mine does - it depends what sort of collet system they have/ the size of actual drill.

Thanks GOOSE… :+1: … Yeah, I’ve seen several and actually have a bigger one. But I have never seen one that small…. that looks real handy.

I gotta locate one somewhere.

Dremel sells a micro chuck too

I believe this is a sales thread…
