Anyone with free DHL ECOMMERCE shipping to the USA have any significant movement in their package yet? April, 28 2019 05:32 EDT EN ROUTE TO DHL ECOMMERCE I suspect it will hit stateside customs any day now just by past experience but maybe someone has an update.

On Flyt Express, mine shows "2019-05-04 00:47 Arrived at destination country"

Edited: Flyt Express updated to

2019-05-07 11:27 Avenel, NJ, US PROCESSED
2019-05-07 11:26 Avenel, NJ, US ARRIVAL AT DHL ECOMMERCE DISTRIBUTION CENTER"

I double-checked, and it now has something registered for the local (USPS) carrier tracking number that the DHL website gives:

May 7, 2019, 11:26 am
Arrived Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item
AVENEL, NJ 07001
Shipping Partner: DHL ECOMMERCE
Your item arrived at a shipping partner facility at 11:26 am on May 7, 2019 in AVENEL, NJ 07001. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date.

Edit: I checked DHL again and it has updated as well:

Status
PROCESSED

So all seem to be in agreement.

Just got a DHL notification that I should be receiving mine on Thursday… WooHoo! Thanks all involved in the design and legwork in getting this out…

So I woke up this morning and got a notification from DHL saying my package was in Hong Kong and would be delivered TOMORROW to my door, in Atlanta, Georgia. I was skeptical considering it takes weeks to get anything from China. Boy was I wrong! Landed this afternoon in Cincinnati.

I need to read up on what needs to be done to the tail switch now. I guess a bit of glue (I keep hearing Goop is best?) should fix the nipple?

NOTHING needs to be done for the tail switch, so long as you don’t open the light at the tail. As long as you always open the light at the head, the switch is fine as-is.

However, you might wish to open it up the tail to see the switch guts or remove the clip. Or you might be worried someone will forget and accidentally open the tail rather than the head during a battery change.

If that is a concern, there is a possibility that the little nubbin in the switch boot might fall out and get lost. To prevent that from happening, you may wish to glue the nubbin in place.

I have not bothered to glue the nubbin in either of my FW3As since I have not opened the tailcap.

HAHAHAH that’s pretty good!

I may give two of mine away as gifts to my father and father-in-law who have come to enjoy flashlights. Plus, I seriously doubt I’ll remember that this light must NEVER be opened from the tail. One slip up and I’ll regret not gluing it immediately.

So for those reasons, I should probably go ahead and fix the issue.

If you’re giving an FW3A to a muggle, rather than gluing the nubbin it might be better just to add some threadlocker to the tailcap threads. That way the muggle won’t accidentally open the tailcap and cause the switch to fall out.

You can use a small amount of blue threadlocker so it can be removed with a lot of strength.

Good idea as well! Hopefully when I get mine tomorrow I’ll see just how tricky this nubbin is. Thanks for the help Firelight!

It would be better to explain the problem and suggest to be careful when removing the tailcap by doing it on a table in case they want to remove the pocket clip.
Gluing, thread locking things Sick it’s always better to “educate”.

Just curious—how many besides me ordered one of each tint and has been wishing they had placed two separate orders?
I’m a pretty patient guy, but I keep feeling so jealous of everyone receiving theirs already. I chose expedited shipping but should just made two orders with free shipping.
No big deal. Just wondering how many others were in a similar situation.

I ordered two 3D with expedited shipping.

A day later I was thinking “I should have gotten one of each tint… then I’d have some 7A LEDs to play with and could mix and match them with 3D”.

But a few days later when my FW3As arrived I was quite thankful that I’d ordered 3D only. I was one of the very first to receive this light and didn’t have to wait.

You don’t mention what tint SC62w you have …

There is only one SC62w tint. ZebraLight uses a different model number for each tint. SC62 is cool white, SC62w is neutral, SC62c is high-CRI 4000K, and SC62d is high-CRI 5000K.

The “w” tint has changed a bit over time though. When they made the “1” models like H51w, it was 4200K. With the “2” models like H52w, it was 4400K. And with the “3” and “4” models, it’s 4500K.

Edit: Corrected the numbers.

The SC62w is listed as “Nominal 4400k” on ZL’s spreadsheet.

I am right there with you… I ordered one of each tint on the same transaction. I am at the end of the wait list, though, so it might not have helped if I split my order. But I wish I had tried.

Flyt Express and 17 Track still have my package chilling in Guangzhou, albeit in a “dispatched” status.

Anyone thought of getting some Luxeon V’s in the FW3A? Or swapping to a quad with a 106xx carclo optic?

There is still the “FW3A Color Temperature” poll result in the first message to help Neal figures which tint would be more popular and would sell better Wink :

My 3D hit New Jersey today and has a USPS tracking number now. Says it left shipping partner and is awaiting the package.

I ordered on the 27th of April. Figured I will get it mid week, next week. So not bad really. 19 or 20 days. I can live with that for free shipping. I never choose expedited shipping anymore. I get it a few days quicker but not really worth the extra money. I am also never in that big of a hurry. Now if it was the only light I had I might be impatient. I learned all those patience waiting on Ali, BG, and GB orders.

The wife ordered a phone case off Ebay from a overseas company. Had some crazy estimated delivery time of 1 to 3 months. Let’s just say my wife never really reads the details of a purchase. She just gets excited and hits the “Buy Now” button. Three and a half months and this case hits the mailbox. She had to give it away. She forgot about the order and had a new phone by time it arrived. She also had the same problem with dog collars. By time the puppy collar (10lbs) got here it didn’t even fit the dog (50lbs) anymore.

She is getting better at reading the details but, she still has new grips on the way for a gun she doesn’t have anymore. Smile

I just have to chuckle and shake my head. Greatest woman in the world. She has the ability to put up with me so, she can do no wrong in my book.

Not sure if this poll is supposed to do it or not, but a lot of email addresses and/or real names are visible when you click on the ballot report. Shocked

Ahem. The first sentence of the poll description:
“Please put your forum username in the “email address or other recognizable identifier” box.”

But if someone is so careless to enter their personal email address or whatever personally identifiable info to some poll on the internet then….
