FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

To calibrate it:

  1. Let the light settle to room temperature.
  2. Go to the thermal config mode.
  3. At the first menu option, while the light flickers and waits for input, click to enter the current room temperature. This is typically about 20 to 25 C, meaning 20 to 25 clicks.
  4. Wait until the light falls out of the menu.

thank you for the simple explanation here. Could you please explain in simplicity part 2, the temperature limit thing? Thank you from us who find this rather confusing ā€¦ even after watching M4DM4X video of it

@ Saypat

Here you go, in detailā€¦. Temperature Calibration & Setting Temperature Limit

:+1:

thank you kindly teacher, appreciate your helpā€¦.

My FW3A arrived on Saturday, but I was awayā€”just picked it up out of the mailbox. It wasnā€™t functioning right out of the box. It would not stay on. I discovered that the tail cap wasnā€™t fully seated (per the instructions I had inserted the battery by removing the head ā€” hadnā€™t touched the tail). After tightening it, it worked initially, but would ā€œwink outā€ on max. Apparently the seating wasnā€™t quite complete, so I loosened the tail cap then tightened it again. After that, it started working OK.

Overall, seems like a terrific light. Has that HDS form factor with superior UI. Canā€™t get over how itā€™s only a few millimeters taller than an Astrolux S43 with 18350 battery tube, while the FW3A uses an 18650. Truly remarkable. Glad I got this and thanks to the FW3A team & Neal for the wonderful Group Buy opportunity!

My pleasureā€¦ :+1:

Buy them from someone who pulls them from their light. I'm guessing they probably don't want them very much if they are pulling them. If you're in Germany maybe Lexel? Odds are at some point he'll be modding a few FW3A's for some folks . Maybe start watching some of the mod threads or start a WTB thread .

I just got my shipping notification from Neal for one 7A and one 3D. I was the 1472nd person in line for the coupon code private message, so we must be very close to the end of shipping out all the pre order lights!!

They are not being shipped out in any particular order.

Has tracking stopped for anyone else today? I get an error in Chinese, Google translate suggests ā€œplease enter verification codeā€

I finally figured out what that fifth pocket is for on your jeans: the FW3A. :person_with_crown:

Yes, me too, using Flyt Express.
Given that the error message only flashes up for about 3 seconds with nowhere obvious to enter a code i get the impression itā€™s a site error rather than anything to do with the delivery process, but have no idea how to check this or actually track the delivery  (Itā€™s not showing up on RM or Yodel).

Thanks, I had a similar thought. As itā€™s more than just me Iā€™m more happy that itā€™s a site problem. I know itā€™ll arrive in good time, just excited.

When it was working it brought up a code beginning with an F which worked to give the same information on 17track. Wish Iā€™d made a note of it.

Itā€™s handy having someone to compare notes with!

my tracking only shows this, not sure whats going on ?

Electronic shipment information received
PostNL

My FW3A arrived after precisely 2 weeks.

That means the shipper has been notified (electronically) to expect a package.

In other words, your package will be shipped soon.

I wanted to share my attempt to make a diffuser. The diffuser rests on top of the clip when extended. The diffuser can be pushed down and held in place with the clip with minimal increase to overall diameter or length.

1) Purchased glucose tablets for $1.89 from CVS drugstore (USA).
2) Removed label and sanded to roughen finish to better scatter the light
3) Sanded top to remove raised edge

I should be getting a 3D and a 7A today via DHL. I'll report on the the 7A comparing to the 3D - don't think anyone received a 7A yet.

I always wonder how these types of diffuser would look with some foil in the top (bottom?)

how well does the ā€œdiffuseā€ stay on? While simulating signalling to person or vehicle?

Mine still in transit, or would test myself.
