Nitecore Tube converted to green laser

I think this one counts as flashlight modding since it started as a flashlight!

I recently discovered the new 520nm green laser diodes that don’t require the frequency doubling stage that regular 532nm green lasers need, which means I could finally build one as small as I wanted. I gutted a Nitecore Tube and turned it into a 30mW rechargeable green laser pointer with some extra firmware features.

Here’s a video detailing the whole build:

It turned out so well that I ended up building a 450nm blue one too. My collection of highly-modified Tubes is growing…

Cool :+1:
Link to laser module?

Whoa. Tell me more more about the 520nm green laser? Do you know if weapon mounted green lasers use a 532nm green laser(Surefire/Streamlight)? I wonder if a 520nm could be installed in my TLR-6? I see you’re in North Carolina. Hmmm…

That doesn’t legal in the least, especially to use on a weapon…

I watched the video… Your skills are impressive, like, really ! I can’t even stack some 7135 and you air wire such a tiny resistor :person_facepalming:
I made a 520nm laser in a Thrunite Ti5Ti but I kept the entire module as is…

I follow your blog, tterev3 - and youtube as well
This is a great mod

Is there a risk of IR radiation with these? I know a lot of the cheapo green lasers dont have filters for this.

520nm laser are generally well regulated, and don’t emit IR. 532nm are another story, because they’re based on an IR diode and a crystal that divide the wavelength by two, to get the green color… but lots of leaking IR

ok, thx for clarifying this XR, and nice work OP

Awesome! NC as well, I see…

Interested. Put me down for 2.

I would buy one if you make some.
