Folomov EDC C2 videoreview

Hello my dear friend!

Today i present the FolomoV EDC C2 with the gorgeous nichia E21A LED and a tiny 14300 cell (including USB !)

you can get it here:

20% OFF Code: 20Folomov

I know this light comes with a cell, but where could one buy an extra 14300 cell???

Thanks for the great review.

I’m not sure that I like the tight hot spot.

If I were to buy the light, I might apply some DC Fix to soften that spot.

People who don’t want the magnet on their pocket lights will happy to hear that it can be removed.

good little light, good price.

I only found one place that carried the cells so far. Alibaba I think, if I spelled that correctly. Might buy one when cells are more available.

yep, that was the only place I found too. And I’ve never purchased anything there before. Only drawback on this light is the short runtimes … but I love all the features, modes, lockout, magnet, etc.

Long clic for off ? Who wants that ?

Me.
Or more precisely - I don’t care.

i told Folomov that they need to offer spare cells since its not a common size

Eh, to each their own I guess.
Fortunately not everyone wants the same UI, but it seems that some are more popular than others… See Anduril/ Narsil for example
I’m pretty sure they will sell well anyway

I just ordered 1 using your code for 20% off - Thanks!

I couldn’t resist the small size, form factor, real moonlight and direct access to both moonlight and Turbo from off.

My main concern are the relatively poor run times at all levels. I suspect that it’s other characteristics will overcome that shortcoming.

This will likely become my new hat brim light, though I may add some DC-Fix to spread that hot spot out a bit. I will have to like it better than my Factor Equipment Mizpah 130, if it is to become my hat brim light. The two lights both weigh 30g with battery.

I should have it in 3 days.

thanks

I received mine about 20 minutes ago, messed around a bit and put the battery on to charge – charge indicator in switch was red.

It’s a cute little light and I kind of like it.

Construction quality seems quite good.

LED is well centered.

UI BIG SURPRISE – NOT WAVE MODE SEQUENCE!!!

NOT WAVE MODE SEQUENCE!!!

Mode sequence is L-M-H-L-M-H in my sample. That caught me off guard and it took me a few cycles to figure out what was going on. I guess they listened to the negative feedback about the Wave mode sequence and made adjustments.

Direct access to low and turbo are as expected.

The clips is actually quite snug – not sure if it will fit on my thicker hat brims.

Three quick clicks for lock-out doesn’t seem too cumbersome. I haven’t tried loosening the tailcap for lock-out. Switch is proud of the light tube and is easily activated, so lock-out seems like a good idea.

Definitely a bright little light on Turbo.

I haven’t done any testing of the CRI, yet. I’ll mess around more after the battery is fully charged.

I watched your video again and see that yours has the same L-M-H-L-M-H mode sequence as mine, so I guess that I shouldn’t have been surprised about this, if I’d paid more attention the first time that I watched the video.

Also, my LED appears perfectly centered, but it does have the brown border on the two sides, as in your video.

I don’t know what the actual moonlight value is, but it’s definitely much higher than the .5 lumens listed in the user manual. Appears similar to my Wuben E05, but tighter and more intense spot - the Wuben is more diffuse.

Color rendering appears to be fabulous.

I will likely be applying some DC-Fix to diffuse the beam some, if I use it for hands free use on a hat brim - the beam had a very defined spot, which is not the best for up close work. but great for throw.
