FREEME ✌ ASTROLUX FT03S SFH55 9300lm & FT03 SFT40 2200lm 1300m NarsilM v1.3 USB-C - ALIVE

Yep I can see it  looks good mate!

I don’t know about that. As far as lumens and throw, the results of slicing and dedoming should be about the same since your removing the magnifying effect of the dome. The difference between the techniques should really be more about small differences in the tint. Hopefully someone with more experience in both techniques can confirm.

This where slicing differs because you can go down to different depth where as if we dedome it will always be the same. If me and you where to slice a dome it probably wouldn’t be the same unlike if we properly dedome a LED.
This has been proven on here that slicing isn’t as effective for throw probably for this reason because differing amount of dome still remain. Not to mention that it might not be even/flat or it could have ridges that act like smaller domes after slicing or sanding.
Where as if it was a proper dedomed LED it will always be a flat surface over the phosphate layer because nothing remains.

Also i think RMM done test with sliced SST40 and got good output by slicing but i wouldn’t have a clue where to find the thread.

In Convoy C8. One SST40 led one flashlight 3 results:
stock: 2232 lm, 70500 cd
shaved: 2037 lm, 123525 cd
full dedomed: 2000 lm, 136300 cd

Just installed dedomed, WOW is the hotspot intense on the roof. Will try and stretch its legs sometime soon.

Looks good. This is how the light is meant to be.

Gasket is an old work access card I sanded back, drilled a hole in, and cut to size.

Would love if Astrolux would sell spare gaskets, given that they sell replacement reflectors…. :weary:

I don’t think you need the gasket just cover the wires with electrical tape? Seeing as the reflector sits so low now it will work fine. You could even put tape over the whole board if it helps you sleep better lol. The gasket must be less than 1mm thick i think my washer was thicker.

Why didn’t i think of that earlier lol its just a nylon washer lol. What about if you buy some M20 nylon washers?

Okay i am back to update my thesis i found some M24 nylon washers they seem to be the closest common sized nylon washers. I will see if i can find some cheaper ones.

Main reason I want a new gasket is for proper centering - I’ve noticed that as I screw the bezel back on the reflector floats around a bit, would be nice to lock it in, like how the flipped-up bits on the stock one does. Or maybe I need to get one made like this by somewhere good (found a few places with good printers, the one at work isn’t so good):

This seller has M14 washers which are 14mm inner diameter so a bit big but the outer diameter is 22mm so close to stock and its 1.2mm thick. Seeing as they come in a pack of 10 you could get a second one and cut a ring out and create a ridge on another washer by melting them or gluing them together? You could even glue in another washer of a smaller size to make the inner diameter correct.

Sounds like a fair bit of work lol.

Is there possibility to order a spare glass? As it seems the supplied one is not the thickest one, would like to have one extra just in case.

Hello everyone, i am new member here and i would like to buy this flashlight. Is there any possibility to buy it for 29.99 now or not? Thanks

Freeme has a post over here with a request section: https://www.1thedeals.com/product/astrolux-ft03-sst40-w-2400lm-narsilm-v1-3-usb-c-21700-flashlight/

Spare o-rings is always nice  thanks for the pics!

Edit:: pics were moved to the bezel thread

Slightly greasing the o’ring can help with installation

Oopise, sorry! Moved the post to the FT03 SS bezel thread, post here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/56495/170

My light did not come with the instructions. What is the discreet mode level? If I changed into that mode instead of ramping, will I get turbo in the mode sequence? I would just like turbo to be top of ramp or in the mode sequence to I can have brightest mode with a single click from off. Is this possible with this light?

I think it’s possible in mode sets, but not ramping.

You can also set the modes to reverse order so 100% will be first and it cycles lower.

If you turn off memory, 100% will always be 1 click.

I don’t have the instructions for this light either, maybe someone can post it or link to it.

Would make a PDF but on mobile

I implemented the top of ramp being less than max on request, but I don't use it myself. I'm not sure why it was used on this light, guess TA had his reasons.

From OFF, dbl click will get to full max though - Anduril doesn't work that way.
