Folomov EDC C2

This is much slimmer than any 16340 light. Which - for me - is precisely the point.

Sound great for you than. Are you going to order? I hope you will like it.

Not sure. Depends on price and reviews. And magnet strength - due to the lack of attachment point I would need to hang it on my neck by the magnet.

FOLOMOV EDC C2

I’m really impressed that they went with a high CRI Nichia E21A and all the more with one with low CCT. :+1:
A pity that the UI isn’t as impressive.

I received mine about 20 minutes ago, messed around a bit and put the battery on to charge - charge indicator in switch was red.

It’s a cute little light and I kind of like it.

Construction quality seems quite good.

LED is well centered.

UI BIG SURPRISE - NOT WAVE MODE SEQUENCE!!!

NOT WAVE MODE SEQUENCE!!!

Mode sequence is L-M-H-L-M-H in my sample. That caught me off guard and it took me a few cycles to figure out what was going on. I guess they listened to the negative feedback about the Wave mode sequence and made adjustments.

Direct access to low and turbo are as expected.

The clips is actually quite snug - not sure if it will fit on my thicker hat brims.

Three quick clicks for lock-out doesn’t seem too cumbersome. I haven’t tried loosening the tailcap for lock-out. Switch is proud of the light tube and is easily activated, so lock-out seems like a good idea.

Definitely a bright little light on Turbo.

I haven’t done any testing of the CRI, yet. I’ll mess around more after the battery is fully charged.

LightObsesson, appreciate your thoughts on this light. I’m interested in one. Meager run times on that tiny (240 mAh) cell however.

An additional note on lock-out:
1/8 turn or less of the tail cap locks it out securely.

Thanks for the info. :+1:

What about 6000cd?Is it a thrower?

No, it’s definitely a flooder.

The Folomov EDC C2 is definitely NOT a flooder.

My sample has a very intense hotspot. So intense that I’m considering applying DC-Fix to soften it up a bit.

Definitely more of a thrower than a flooder.

Are you sure you’re thinking about the C2 and not the C1?

The C2 has a much larger reflector and my sample has a pretty intense hot spot and is quite throwy.

I used to consider 15 cd/lm to be in the flooder range. But if you C2 owners tend to differ I assume you’re right.
So…I take my words back.

This reviewer considers it a thrower - especially for a light smaller than your thumb.

Did you ever end up applying DC-Fix? I just got a C2. Love everything about it except I’d like to make it as floody as possible to use primarily as a reading light.

Do you know if anyone’s opened it up to swap the optic or do other mods?

Oh, cute !!
Not cheap though, and the battery is only 280 mAh…

E21 in a reflector gives considerable tint shift.
Pebbled TIR would have been better and a few mm shorter.

I haven’t applied DC-FIX, but did some Scotch tape for diffusion. I still plan to buy some DC-FIX.

I just tried DC-Fix (fyi you can get the bezel loose with a fingernail). It didn’t really help.

There’s a lip inside the tube so any replacement reflector/optic needs to be about 15mm

Edit: 14.75mm for the first 8.5mm or so, 17mm for the last 1.5mm, with an indent in the last .2-.3mm on the outer rim where the bezel comes down. Pic.

Does it have a TIR AND a reflector??
