I was thinking about this light, and wondering how many LEDs fit along the length of an 18650 tube... then I realized the obvious progression is to a COB strip down the side, making a true flooder... Wouldn't even be too bad with a high CRI COB strip

Got one today from Amazon USA. Unfortunately, it does not work off the battery, only off USB power.
My USB power meter shows it drawing 1A when on max brightness and 0A when it is off and should be charging.
It came with the battery already inserted. I had unscrewed the tail cap and removed an insulating disc and screwed the cap back on.
Charging indicator is Green.
Is charging the battery more complicated than this?

The D25S variant (dual SST40) is now listed on Sofirn’s store in Shopee Philippines. I made an order for it more than a week ago, but the order has not been shipped out (I think if it still doesn’t get shipped out in another few days, the system will automatically cancel the order).
Is the D25S really available or is it just a product listing on the Sofirn Shopee store (and the item is not really in stock)? I do not notice the D25S listed in Sofirn’s AliExpress store yet…
I’ve been using the D25S for home improvement projects lately. It is quite comfortable to wear. The strap does tend to loosen up, especially when taking it off and putting it on again. It hasn’t been overly annoying, though. And, I really like the light it puts out, quantity, color, and spread.

The page you linked to says “United States via Standard Shipping from China” and on the checkout page it says “Standard Shipping from China”. Are those wrong and it really does ships from California? And it’s $2.99 for shipping from China. Is that also the case for the California warehouse?

From Sofirn website I ordered 4 D25S on 03-25. Total was $47.96. No shipping charge. To be clear it was from same place that Barry’s link takes you.
Interesting…when I was checking out it showed $2.99 shipping as well as as a 15 cents service charge for a total of $15.13 for a single unit. Perhaps things have changed and Barry can clarify why.

There is a minimum purchase for free shipping (over $21). I think that applies regardless if shipped from US or China. I bought 3 and there was no shipping charge.
Yeah that makes sense. I was playing around and I just saw that 2 units had free shipping (and a 24 cent service charge 
). I don’t really need 2 more headlights, and actually not even 1 more hahaha. But at least it makes sense now.

Me neither. I have 3 sons though and the batteries alone are worth a few bucks so I said WTH.
What the heck, I ordered 2 since I’ve been selling some of my reloading supplies and buying totally unneeded things is something I can rationalize doing (not that I ever needed doing that ).
I was logged into my account and used paypal. At first it showed shipping charge but after logging into paypal and being redirected back to retailer charge was gone. YMMV.
