Modded Sofirn C8F 21700 w/ Luxeon V2 4000K, custom Anduril fw

Considering selling one of my C8F’s since I now have 3 of the 21700 model and 1 of the 18650 model. Pretty sure I would rank this as my favorite all around host.

This particular one has a MTN-20DDm FET+1 driver which I have flashed a custom version of Anduril on that supports the rear forward switch. The only difference between this and stock Anduril is if you tap the forward switch the light comes on in the “last memorized setting”. This allows a true momentary rear switch and allows you to still use the side switch for all of your favorite Anduril features.

The LEDs are Luxeon V2 4000K (70 CRI)

Battery is 21700 or 18650 (with adapter)

Both springs are fully bypassed and it includes a stainless bezel and AR lens.

Light pulls around 12-13A and somewhere between 3,500 and 4,000 lumens depending on battery.

Beam is a good combination of flood and throw. It’s like an XPG2 beam with better than XPG3 output. There is one distinct ring at the edge of the spill but other than that the beam has a good hot spot and plenty of spill.

It’s really too bad the stock driver isn’t reflashable. I have a few of these I’d like to update. But so far, it still requires replacing the driver. So a modded one is something special. :slight_smile:

What custom version of Andúril is it that supports both e-switch and tailclicky forward switch at the same time? Can you please guide me to the right version? Maybe this one could be worthwhile to use in the Sofirn SP70 BLF edition?

Have you measured the tint on the Luxeon 4000k?

Does the dual-switch version turn on when the tail switch is activated, or does it only act as a lockout?

Honestly, you've made your C8F almost exactly how I would want one built. I just am not feeling the need for new/more lights at this point.

It turns on to the last memorized level so you don’t even have to touch the side switch if you turn it off at a good level. Since it’s a forward switch you can also do momentary or signal SOS. That’s what TK helped me out with. There was a delay but she showed me how to make it turn on immediately.

thanks contactcr fro the measurements. I was hoping the Luxeon 4000k would look similar to a cree XP-L HI 5A or 5D tint. Seems to look greenish like a 219C 4000k

It’s a reflector they are generally higher duv than TIR. In any case 4000k harder to see green since that is when it starts to yellow
