I would have preferred that they have kept the current knurling pattern which looks better IMO, and not added a central part like if 2 short tubes where connected with a threading.
Nice to see a carrier with top and bottom aluminum plate instead of the heavier brass ones which oxydize.

On both ends of the battery carrier there is a white insulation piece that is protruding. If you put 2x carriers in serie, these protruding part doesn’t allow the electrical continuity so you will need the additional plate that is designed to make this continuity.
