Led4power.com : LD-4 CC linear drivers, ILC-0/1 illuminated tailcaps, optics, MOSX, copper DTP MCPCBs...

There is one mode (100%) option in config. mode.

I use 3 lights with L4P drivers & FC switch (config: moonlight + 3 modes, no memory). All work fine!

Thanks!

And don’t forget you have the option of running that 100% mode as either the maximum controlled current mode or direct drive

Sweet!

Zdravo Neven,

Apparently, the Osram HX Boost (4040 footprint) is not compatible with the MosX board. Is there any triple or quad MCPCB out yet to use with this LED?

Hvala vam! :-)

There is BLF Q8 PCB quad:

Yes, I have seen it and I feel tempted to buy it. :-) But do you plan to offer triple/quad MCPCBs for Osram Boost HX (CULNM1.TG and CULPM1.TG) with 17-20mm that fit into smaller lights?

4040 footprint is too big for 20mm triple and quad, I will have 3x/4x 3030 for white flats in 20mm in near future, they have almost the same (good enough) output till 4-5Amp per LED.

I just noticed my jetbeam jet II MK has a centering ring that fits slightly loose for 3535 emitters. It might work perfectly for the 4040 without any modifications.

Do you think I need to regulate my output current to a safe level when used with a high drain 16340? Vapcell rates these at 6A but I don’t want to mess up a $10 emitter.

My feeling: a Vapcell 16340 may be just right, but could also be a bit too much. But if you keep springs unbypassed you should be ok.

Is there any buck driver out there or something that can drive the 1mm boost HL to 6amps constant?

Dobro jutro Neven,

I am interested into your Q8 boards with OSRAM KW CULNM1.TG. Can you please help me find out some information about the LED?

  1. What LED is this exactly? Is it a "small 1mm² OSLON BOOST HX or something else? It is nowhere to be found on OSRAM's website. They only list the 2mm² KW CULPM1.TG (Boost HX).
  2. Do you have a datasheet for the KW CULNM1.TG LED? I would like to know more about its maximum current sustainability.
  3. Will you be offering the Q8 MCPCB with KW CULPM1.TG (Boost HX 2mm²) in the near future?

It's interesting that the big 4040 Boost HX (2mm²) can sustain 6.6A of current and ist rated 20.1W of power while its "predecessor" the 3030 "White Flat" 2mm² CSLPM1.TG sustains 5A but is rated with only 4.38W.

Hvala vam!

Thomas

LED is not available on OSRAM pages probably because it's already discontinued, I added datasheet link under product listings, here is the link:

https://led4power.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/KW-CULNM1.TG_.pdf

3. If I manage to get small quantity somewhere, or become rich enough to risk and buy whole 2000pcs reel, then yes:)

Why was the led ever made if it is discontinued so soon already? Is that an assessment error from Osram or calculated in beforehand?

"Due to low market demand the OSLON Boost HL KW CULNM1.TG has reached its end of life. "

This can be found in official document:

https://www.mouser.com/PCN/Osram_Opto_Semiconductor_1_cip_OS_NFND_2018_008.pdf

The main purpose of this LED was (it seems) automotive headlights, but it looks like potential big customers did't like the size of LED package, for whatever reason, or cost.

Thanks, interesting. There was a name for the KW CULNM1.TG in this document btw: Oslon Boost HL

How about the HX ? Is that being phased out already as well?

Thank you Neven! I certainly hope you get rich soon and do us the great favor in buying a complete reel of Oslon Boost HX LEDs. :D

The Oslon Boost HX 2mm² is still advertised on www.osram.com, so I assume it's not being phased out already.

Personally, I think the 4040 KW CULPM1.TG would be even better for using in the Q8. But it's hard to resist the CULNM1.TG. ;-)

Assembling the MCPCB into the Q8 should be comparable to the Luxeon V board, though.
