CNQG - Sent me the wrong item... Ric to the rescue!

I count myself fortunate... both Skyray Kings came all right from them but my issue was that I got no emails or order acknowledgements until I sent emails on both. Shipping and tracking #'s didn't even show up the their website.

I really wish a U.S. stocking dealer would step up with these better lights.

Do keep us posted-hope it works out for you.

Rich

I sent my order and PP worked but on return to site it said problem with payment, never got a conformation email either, i emailed customer service and they sent one.

I understand you are upset about your light, but how about giving them a chance to correct it. Ric-CN is a BLF member and he will work with you. Sometimes the CS reps don't really understand good customer service, just need some training. He and Hank at IOS are smaller dealers and their reputations seem to be important to them. I have always found them to be on the up and up if you talk to them directly.

+1

Asking for advice here in a tricky situation is OK ... but save your final judgement until the process is settled one way or the other.

Okay, you talked me into it. I'll take one for the team and quit my day job and start up a USA-based flashlight shop online. I'll carry similar product as CNQG and Intl-outdoor.

Let me check.. it's still April 1, right?

In all fairness, Ric seems to be good people so try to get in touch with him directly if you can. CNQG needs a JO on their staff (Solarforce-sales.com).

Always use a CC with PP because their customer "protection" is worthless. Then you can have the CC company charge it back, regardless of what the stooges at PP say. Sometimes the threat of a charge-back is enough to motivate PP.

Well i dont think i jumped the gun, i have not slagged them off just asking advise. Anyway my reply that registered mail is not an option and postage unregistered will be circa $15 i requested discount on repurchase of original light, here is the reply:

'Ok, The ZIX valued 27.5$, plus the shipping cost by registered,
Total is 32.5$. we can offer you 10$ discount.
Please confirm back. thanks

What do you guys think?

Have you contacted Ric-CN?
From the above, it seems like you will be out of pocket on that exchange.

Not contacted Rick directly, should i just PM him on here? I just used the CS mail they list on the website. I think maybe a bit more off would be nice TBH

So basically you paid full price for the light you dont want, then another 22$ for the light you do want, so it works out to over $50 to get your light...

Did you contact RIC thru PM here on the forum?

Or did you try this email address?

I would email and ask for RIC and reference this thread in the forums and tell him to send the right light, no charge, or send the cost of return shipping.

Don't accept anything that costs you a DIME more than you already paid.

Pardon my involvement. I PM'ed RiC-CN with a link to this thread and asked that he get involved, to correct the situation.

I know I am sticking my big nose in it, but I did anyhow, since this now involves many people watching and waiting for the outcome.

CNQG needs to address it now, in this thread, so we all can see what they are really like, so we can continue to buy or not buy, based on their final decision to rectify the problem.

I just don't understand the philosophy of trying to back out of taking responsibility, when a vendor makes the mistake. I guess it's a cultural difference thing. It seems that overseas vendors do ithis stuff all the time and somehow make the buyer feel like they are at fault. I just don't get it.

Good thing I stumbled upon this. I want to see what happens next before I purchase anything from CNQG.

Thanks old-lumens, that was my next step anyway, i think they still have a good chance to come out looking good from this.

I just did a simple “heads up”, check out this thread, that’s all. Not my place to do anything more, probably not my place to do it at all, but as long as it’s cool with you… Probably will take many hours for any response, due to the time zones.

Ric doesn't visit BLF every day, I waited for his reply about 4-5 days after my last PM to him.

Patience is a virtue. :)

I hope they make a good offer to solve this issue. My only experience with them was the DRY group buy, and it was a very positive experience.

04/03/2012 - 20:57 Ric replied that he will look the whole thing over, see what is going on and take care of it. So give him a few hours to a day and see what happens.

Ok guys, thanks to Old-lumens, Rick has PM'd me and offered me a better solution so hopefully now we can progress with this.

He has advised the F12 is a better light so I may not ever end up with the Z1X lol

Jeansy:

Having owned a Z1 for some time and now drooling over the F12, I think that is sage advice. Enjoy the new light, glad it worked out.

Glad it worked out as I knew it would. Ric has never let me down and has been nothing short of great to work with in my experience. If I know Ric I wouldn't be surprised if he let you keep the one and sent you an F12 for whatever the price difference may be.
