Hi. I’m a little new to selling things here, but I’ve ended up with a lot of lights I should probably find better homes for. Hopefully this is the right place to do that?
Specifically, Sofirn asked if I could test a few lights people returned. They wanted to know if anything is actually wrong, or if the items were returned simply because someone changed their mind.
Sure, I said. I can do that.
I wasn’t expecting so many though… particularly so many which have nothing wrong with them. A few have been quite obviously broken, but it seems like most people returned lights even though they work perfectly fine.
So I have a pretty sizable pile now. And I don’t really want to be a refurbished flashlight vendor. So I’m hoping to send these out in bulk somehow, for heavily reduced prices.
Hence the “Loot Box”. Or variety pack. Starter pack, maybe?
Each box has six lights:
- One 1xAA light: SF14 or SP10A
- One 18650 light with a built-in charger: SC31
- One 18650 tactical-style light: SP31 V2.0 (is basically a Fenix PD35 V2.0)
- One 18650 EDC-style light: SP32A V2.0
- One 21700 or 26650 light: C8F or SP33
- One soda-can light: SP36 or Q8
- At least one charger
- At least two lights with batteries included
The retail value of each set is about $200 to $250, so I’m thinking a fair price to sell them for is $100 plus shipping. Inside the US, the shipping companies tell me it’s about $20 to send one of these boxes via their lowest-priced ground service. So $120 total per set unless international shipping is needed, and then things get complicated.
Each Q8 has the latest version of Anduril on it, but the others are stock lights. There’s no “TK magic” of any sort… all I’ve done is make sure they work, configure them to use ramping where possible, and put them in sets so each box has a variety of products. And sometimes I’ve done very minor fixes, like tightening a loose retaining ring, replacing a clip, or replacing a missing manual.
These are refurbished items, so they may not be in completely mint condition. Most are, but some may be missing the spare O-rings or have a small scratch or dent somewhere. They also mostly have emitters toward the cool end of the spectrum, since that’s most of what Sofirn makes. So they’re pretty basic lights, but they’re also pretty decent for normal seeing-in-the-dark purposes.
Is this a thing people are interested in?
