Welcome to BLF, and yes, itās pretty much the normā¦ just wait until you get into modding
Wait, did you say all the D series from Imalent?
Even Iām saying itās a bit much.
Have they all shipped or not?
Modding is different though. You can buy as many components as you want.
Thanks folks, and yes they all been shipped except for a DN35 which iām haggling a price over.
I might be a bit old in the tooth for modding nowadays, I can remember buying the first 5mm blue LED to hit the market in the 80ās.
I fed it 12 volts through a 1k resistor. What a bliss when it started to glow! With todays components I wouldnāt know where to startā¦ but iām keen
It's good to have you here, Beanie!
Is your last name Weenie?
Hi and welcome to the idiots forum.
Hopeless Idiots in the way we react to every new release.
Must have. Must have. (Itās great and never ending).
Make sure you get the DN35. I have both.
All round āIā think the 35 is a better all rounder. but both are a lot better than a lot of others.
Youāll have to modify round the switches for nighttime.
Some apply a blob of epoxy around. above/below the sw to feel better when you canāt see themā¦
some apply a rubber block on top of sw with adhesive
to raise it slightly.
Both work. Using the proper adhesives.
They a great light.
Another one is the Astrolux S41 (4 x Nichia 249B) with long tube. Used on 4 or sometimes 5 of 7 settings they perfect walkabouts without burning you.
Have fun.
racoon city, thanks, nope its not weenie its weanie. spelling is everything
Macka, thanks. The DN35 is on its way now also, iām gonna need me a suitcase for all these flashlights.
Iām starting to eye off the MS18 but gawd its expensive down under, iām not sure which kidney to move on. Decisions decisionsā¦
I hear you about the switches, iāve been toying with the DN70 and my strike rate in the dark finding the switches is poor.
Definately going to need some modding. The Astrolux S41 sounds good iāll check it out.
So I know youāve all seen this before but iām sharing the excitement. The mailman delivered a DT35 today, wrapped! canāt wait for nightfall to check it out.
The switches on this seem like they might be easier to find than the tiny DN70ās. Still 4 otherās in the mail system yet to arrive. Iām so easily led :person_facepalming:
First impressions are itās a nice sturdy piece of gear, I switched on the strobe at max lumens and near had a fit - I need to find my senses.
Welcome, Beanie.
welcome to the illumin naughty. we are all bringers of light here. i hope you get a warm welcome!
Show us that DX80!
Thanks Rusty & Perpetual
The DX80 is still enroute and will likely arrive early next week. Iām happy for the DX80 to arrive last after iāve found my senses again.
I can already tell this hobby is going to get out of hand hehe
A fool and his money are soon parted. I sure miss those guysā¦Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson. They were replaced by niwalker, armytek, Olight and such Years ago
hi and welcome to BLF!
I was in recovery, but a couple weeks ago I fell off the wagon. A dozen lights are incomingā¦
Thank you all ^
Rexlion thats quite a trigger finger you have there
I fell off the wagon too! I swore no more flashlights and then I lost my EDC Jetbeam-1 MK and now iāve ordered 2 new lights and want more.
Wait, I ordered 3 lights.
My wife is going to kill me.
P10pablo 3 is an odd number youāll need one more (donāt tell the wife) iām snooping around for an EDC as I write.
So many choices it boggles my mind!
ummā¦ so I added to the stable
1 x LUMINTOP FW3A XPL HI 2800LM 6500k
1 x Astrolux S41 4x Nichia 219B
1 x Sofirn SP36 6000LM
It has begun
I canāt resist a good reccomendation
Welcome to the forum!
About 2Ā½ years ago I became addicted to flashlights too, and I bought about 30 within the period of a year. I wanted to have as many lumens as possible, and among my acquisitions were both the Imalent DX80 and the Acebeam X80. Even though I found the two aforementioned lights extremely impressive, I realised that I didnāt get on with cold white tints, and I sold most of my lights again. After that I lost interest until the Emisar D4S came out, and now Iām hooked on small lights. Another recent purchase was the FW3A, and now Iām eyeing a number of lights including the Fireflies E07, Astrolux FT03 and GT micro (if I can find it at a decent price in a neutral white tint).
I guess once youāre hooked thatās it - I definitely canāt seeing myself going without this obsessoin for an indefinite period of time! Not been able to get into modding though, as Iāve found that itās something that my autistic brain canāt handle. So at least Iāve got time to focus on my other interests.
