YES! When!? WHEN!? :open_mouth:

Looks more Bronze than Sand. Might go for the Blue as a contrast to the Emisar Green that I have.

I think this Astrolux MF01S will also be released as the Mateminco MT07, based on some teaser pics I saw.

I was about to buy the Astrolux MF01 when I found this thread, being fairly new at this it’s not always easy to understand how some of the issues discussed here translate into actual measurable differences in the operation of the flashlight. Based on what is known thus far, is the MF01S significantly better than the MF01 in the features I listed below? I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the wait, any advice appreciated.

The most important features that I am looking for are:
Large, solid (no shadows) flood throw area.
Natural color.
Longer running time especially on high settings.
Brighter.
Better mode spacing.

1. Good flood area, yes.
2. Natural color. Even better than the current Nichia 219C version for the SST-20 4000k version.
3. No.
4. Yes.
5. Yes.

Interested, love that they used the SST-20’s

The user interface (Anduril) on this new model is vastly superior to the original. It will use ramping so you can set it at exactly the brightness level you need as opposed to preset levels which might be too dim or too bright on the older model. You can still have preset levels if you want and you can also adjust the number of levels you prefer. Plus it has adjustable thermal controls. You can set it to the max temperature of your choosing.

Remember that Brightness and Run Time are linked together. The more brightness the less run time and vice versa. This new model is capable of higher max output which means it heats up and drains the batteries faster. You can’t defy the laws of physics. On the other hand, you can choose the exact brightness level you want to give you extra run time.

For instance, let’s say you need about 3,000 lumen. With the older model you had to choose either 1550 lumen or 5100 lumen. The lower level is too dim so you have to use the 5100, but this reduces your run time. By setting the new model at 3000 lumen you do gain run time.

Thank you, very helpful answers. I’ll wait for this one.

:THUMBS-UP:

Please make shure it ships with the absolute latest Andúril firmware version :D

Why?

This light might have it’s own version of Anduril. You never know.

I’d like a version of Anduril that turns off right away. Current version is still pretty good, though.

Interested. Thanks for referring me back to the first post I could have sworn it was empty.
