[♛ FreemeGB] Long Battery Tube for ASTROLUX MF01/ MF02/ MF04 Series >> ALIVE

Mine was reported as backordered, and I ordered it as soon as I got the email. Same thing with my Lii-500s. This is why I prefer Sofirn and their Amazon relationship. I’m not sure if I’ll continue using Banggood. I much prefer Neal’s, Hank’s and Amazon.

One has to be patient when getting Astrolux products. 1-2mth waiting period for preorder is common.

Fortunately, battery tube design is quite straightforward, and it should not take more than a month for manufacturer to send out their first batch.

Edit:I did receive the BG's "out of stock" email too. Status has been changed to shipped now.

Yesterday…
“Your order XXXXXXXX has been shipped out”

Preorder #3

~3 hours ago I received an email informing me that my order has been shipped out.

:+1:

Was I late to the party Freeme?

Apparently not
Thanks, order placed

Got mine today. Nice but The battery carrier it comes with is much lighter then the original carrier that comes with the lights. And possibly the spring’s are smaller aswell. I’ll confirm once I get my hand on a micrometer.

Got mine a week ago, been using it outdoors, works very well with my MF04S, 01, and 02. Loving it. On the MF04S it adds a very nice balance. Something that was missing, now it is waaay better in every way than my GT70.

I got mine, but… please let me ask, how this long battery tube can fail.

I removed the original carrier from the original tube of my MF01.
I inserted the new carrier loaded with batteries into the original tube, breathing switch lights up, OK.
But, when I insert the original carrier + the ring between them + the new carrier into the long tube, breathing switch does not light up. (I carefully tightened both head and tail cap)

I have first gen MF01, and first gen MF02, and for both of them, it does not work.

My MF04 and MF01 prototypes work without any issue. MF02 did not work initially, but i managed to get it light up after i swapped the head over to the other end.

You might want to get it a try?

Almost forgot to mention: my battery tube had a dent on one of the threads (insufficient packaging resulting in shipping damage), so I needed to hammer it a bit to let the carriers pass through (I could not push the carriers through the dented side). I thought, that hammering the dented side a bit wider will not make any harm to the battery tube (tail cap can be fully screwed on).

Another observation: no matter, which end I try to screw the flashlight head on, it gets a sudden stop, while screwing on both flashlight heads on the original short tubes results in a gradual, noticeably softer stop.

Also, as I looked at the length of the threads, the original short tubes have a bit more lengthy threads compared to the long tube.

Received mine yesterday. The threads on the one side are not well painted and they do not “feel” smooth at the points where the paint is absent. Not really happy. Except from that it is ok.

That dent could be the reason for the tube to malfunction. To maintain a good contacts between all the components, every millimeters counts. I advise you to contact BG customer service soon. Get ready you pics and video as proof.

Received mine, works OK, small dents on the end of the threadings during transport. The plastic of the bubble wrapping is thin, it would have been better if they had put the tube and its wrapping in a cardbox.

Thank you for the GB Freeme !

Too bad, that I didn’t make any pictures or video footage before trying to hammer the dent.

I also found, that the battery carrier came with this tube, is even shorter, than the original ones. My guess is, somehow, the outer ring section is not pressed enough to make a contact, therefore the negative part is to blame. I will try to make the tube a bit wider at the dent, because maybe one of the carriers is forced into a slightly tilted position by the dent, and thus, it doesn’t make good contact.

@adam7027
The tube is reversible, did you try to put the dent on the tailcap side with the loaded battery carrier on the head side to make good contact ?
