KC1 keychain light is available now

Same cells, with same chemistry and ratings. The Sony is slightly longer.

But you can get better capacity cells for slightly longer run-time. 3600mAh instead of 3000mAh but you also have to look at the Continuous Discharge Rating (higher amps mean higher output but less run-time if you use turbo or unregulated output)

hoping the aux LEDs on this are adjustable in brightness like those on the FF lights. Also waiting to see about thread compatibility with the D4 v1.

exciting flashlight times!

Damn…. I must have one……
I will wait for the recently ordered D4 with 3000K and decide if I get a D4 V2 with 3k or a 4k then….

so is the Aux board with a second MCU that controls the colors?
and the main MCU uses serial data to set the Aux MCU?

or Attiny 1634 MCU with more pins to control 3 aux LED channels?

you can simply put 3 0402s together smaller than such a 0606 LED size

and if you want go crazy use 0201 LEDs

Is there somewhere a comparison between the FET and the 7135 efficiency? (for different power levels)
Or can someone just write some general numbers?

OK Got my sand ordered….

Bring on the D4SV2. :money_mouth_face:

Can someone explain how aux leds are implemented? Do they turn on when the light is off? Like a lit tailcap? Or is it a mode during use?

I’d want them pretty dim if the former.

Will the added lanyard hole be less sharp-edged than the one on the D4S?
This is the only thing I don’t like on that light….

They are not a regular use mode. Anduril lets you set two different modes for the AUX LEDs: one for power off and one for lockout. Each can be set to off, low, high, or blinking.

It is also fairly easy to change the modes, so you can reconfigure them as needed.

You should make the SS bezel As standard and not as option!

In TK’s D4 (V1) review, runtime at the ~150lm highest regulated level was estimated at around 8 hours. I’m assuming this was with a 3000mAh cell, but it possibly could have been with a 3500mAh instead. My memory does not include all the minor details.

Why do that and remove the option for color matched, cheaper aluminum ones for those that prefer it?

Hank ,
what is the Kelvin # of the XP-G2 S4 ? is the S4 a 2B?

Ordered one! Looks like the next month or two will be great with both the D4v2 and the FW3A both coming in around the same time!

Please post a short video of how the AUX LED’s light up, dim, change colors, rainbow, voltage…

I’m sure many will be thrilled!

Thank you!

:+1:
I agree, the only thing that lets the D18 down is that shiny bezel ( and the thermal regulation that’s a bit wonky)

I’m thinking about getting an led in the 5000k tint for the D4v2. Is the SST-20 5000k a similar tint to the XPL-Hi in lower levels? Or is it a sickly green. :confounded: I might pay the extra 10 dollars if that means I can avoid a greenish led!

Yep. I prefer to not have a stainless bezel. It is great to have as a extra cost option for those who do want one, but not as an included extra cost for those who don’t.

Right there with you. I’m hoping for a bright cyan like the D4v1, although I might be interested in other colours as well.

I ordered mine this morning and just assumed it came with the SS bezel, I misread it. If I read correctly I would have ordered the SS bezel. But going back and looking at it again, I think I prefer the regular aluminum  Saved myself a couple of dollars. Those dollars will soon be used to buy upcoming lights:
