Test/review of Vapcell INR10440 320mAh (Green)

Thanks. Good stuff coming from Vapcell lately.

Have you re-tested the Efest 10440 lately? I do some testing on the side for inventory verification and think they've taken a sharp downturn in recent batches.

No.

Sometime last year I got one (the “350mAh/3A” one) from another vendor and it was bad. It measured like half the label capacity with high resistance. Ended up getting a replacement that was much closer to spec. I think it arrived with very low voltage though so not sure if it was due to storage or just a poor specimen all along.

Thanks for the test, I was waiting on this one!

Comparing this test to the old Efest 10440 tests gives a mixed impression. At the lower currents the Efest actually gives a higher voltage at the same capacity, at 2A they are close, and at 3A the Vapcell keeps its capacity while the Efest does not.

All newer Efest 10440 cells I have received have had much poorer performance than when they first appeared.

Well, is there any source for these???
I’d like to retire a few Efests.

The flat top version of this Vapcell battery appears good, but the button top version performed, however, poorly. I purchased 16 pieces last month for my ACEBEAM UC15 and tested them:

Apparently this is a completely different cell from the flat top one. They simply performed similarly to those poor button-top 10440’s seen in the market. I reported this issue to Vapcell, hoping they could find a truly identical button-top 10440.

Ordered 6 from here yesterday. Today I received a refund to Paypal.

Did you mean 9 watt?

Thanks.

Cheers :-)

Yes, it is fixed now

Ordered some here, thanks for the link.

Thanks for the test :+1:

I had that problem with the gold Vapcell 14500, 1000mAH cells. The welds holding the button tops were so bad, I popped the buttons right off with my thumbnail. After I removed the buttons and rewrapped the cells, they tested great.

I know Vapcell can add button tops for ordered cells upon request. And to my experience on their 18650’s, these button tops are by default simply fixed by the insulation stickers, not welded. Later they told me that was because some customers would like to remove these button tops in some situation. However the conductivity is really poor that way and makes the whole resistance much higher, especially when their cells are mostly high-drain ones.

But for this 10440 cell, Vapcell told me their button tops are installed directly by the cell manufacturer. Vapcell sourced these cells and rewrapped them, without any modifications.

So it appears that the cell manufacturer simply sent Vapcell another product without ever notice.

Thank you HKJ for testing this nice cell.

There is still “The 15 watt is only for 5 minutes!”.

Are these the best 10440 cells on the market? I’m getting ready for the release of the Lumintop GT Nano.
