[M4D deal ACTIVE] LiitoKala Lii-500S groupbuy

Received my charger today. Great charger! Love the display. Easy to learn the user interface. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of use out of it.

I am interested to see a review by someone who has the time to carefully test the ability of this charger to adequately fill NiMH cells without overcharging them. I know this will be my go-to charger for Li-ions, at least, and possibly also NiMH, if it seems to do a decent job at filling those safely, as well.

Congrats!! . When did you order??

banggood told me that a batch will be sent today..

Thanks for the info!!

I ordered the charger on May 31.

I also ordered May 31, but the tracking number that just shows the shipper is waiting to receive the item from Banggood, so it will be a surprise when it finally arrives.

Thanks. :+1: . I ordered 5 June so I am waiting on restocking.

Code has expired. Per Banggood. Was going to pull the trigger this morning. Maybe its the promo for 13% off.

Will the code be valid at a later date?

yes - PROMO sales do deactivate other codes - usually my codes do work after those sales...

For those who already received their Lii-500S charger, have you tried its NiMH Fast tester? Does that test show too much capacity for NiMH? AS HKJ revealed reviewing the old Lii-500 Review of Charger LiitoKala Engineer Lii-500

Just got an email from Banggood stating my order has shipped. I’m really looking forward to getting this new charger.

Me too, mine just shipped as well!

That’s not surprising, considering that is a “charge capacity” test, not a discharge test. NiMH charging is very inefficient during the last part of charging, and a lot of energy put into them is just wasted as heat. That’s normal with all NiMH cells. So, the charger has to put in a lot more charge capacity than the real capacity of the battery, in order to fully charge it.

A discharge test is the proper way to analyse cells, especially NiMH.

Yep got shipping notification also. Now waiting for it to be picked up by the shipper & start it’s journey.

I agree. One of the reasons I took advantage of this deal and bought this charger, after waiting years to buy a new charger, is that the reviews of the Lii-500 showed it does not overcharge NiMH cells by continuously pumping current into them to make sure they are completely charged to capacity in every case. I would rather have a charger that errs on the side of not completely filling a cell than a charger that trickle-charges the cells to death to max out their charge capacity.

A quick question, I don’t see 18350 cells as being supported, is their any reason to assume they won’t work with this charger?

18350 is listed in the product description on BangGood and Aliexpress:

Whoever designed the packaging, forgot to include it.

Got mine today. I don’t have time to plug it in and play with it, but I did check to see if my Rofis protected 21700 battery woud fit. Nope, no way.
My flat top Sofirn 21700 cells fit easily, but the protected 21700 is way too long. Bending the sliding tab won’t work because the cell is too long to fit inside the plastic housing, not just the charge slot.

I don’t understand why charger manufactures don’t just take their 18650 designs and add 5mm to the length. Problem solved.

Just curious…. Anyone who got shipping notice on 23 June have any movement on their tracking yet?

Or is it like mine and still says “Logistics order created”.

I’m figuring/hoping mine will start moving by at least 27 June.
