Favorite movies of all time ?

Don’t know about the favourite.
But I Downloaded the latest Stalone Movie last week.
Opening here in July sometime.

Ëscape Plan. The Extractors”.

Got round to watching it last night.
Lower budget than usual for him.
I reckon it’ll do his rep more damage than good.
After what he’s been making recently.
The Text is real F Grade in parts.

BUT. It’s a Rambo and free.

Men in Black International. is another.

A “half” take off of MIB. Quite funny in parts.
but not up to usual standards of story.

The Professor (Johnny Depp) is a good one too.

I’ve ben watching movies since around 1949/50
so can’t remembe them all.
But you can put John Wayne. and Tom Sellick at the top I’d think.
Followed by any GOOD SF, then action after that.

PLUS. ALL the kids GOOD Animated movies too.
They are Bloody amazing.

Basically ANY good movie I watch and enjoy, is the best.
Till the next one.

Ice castles

  • The cutting edge
  • Slapshot
  • Youngblood
  • Swimming pool
  • Beijing Bicycle
  • Yip man
  • Into the blue

Just watched “Borgman”.

What an odd but intriguing film.

I still don’t get it.

The scene with Isolde and the would-be gardener is priceless, though!

My personal favorite movie is Conan the barbarian, not the greatest film but the OST is one of the best ever made and perfectly fit the universe.

Do you have the Prometheus version of the score recorded by the City of Prague Philharmonic?

The GREY. Is one of Neesons best. Specially the end.

This new one with him as a snowplough driver is good too.
I’ve just watched it.

And the best Conan was the first in Arnies Series
Not these modern ones.
when he barely spoke English Nor acted.
Not that the acting has improved much hey.

Thinking about it, surprised no one (including me) yet mentioned “10 To Midnight”.

Great flick, and except for the (rather satisfying) end, has only implied violence a la Hitchcock.

I hadn’t seen it in a very long time. Just re-watched it last year and was amazed at how much I still enjoyed it. Although bias probably helped, as I really enjoyed it as a kid and had a super crush on Sandal Bergman. James Earl Jones really made that movie, too. It aged well, because of minimal reliance on CGI and great quality pyrotechnic effects. It felt “real.” The second movie was fun for different reasons, partly because of Grace Jones — she was a hoot. Arnie’s acting had gotten a little better too. But CGI… was miserable. Especially the sorcerer’s castle scene. Terrible lighting, the worst in the boat crossing. I’ve long wondered if that movie would ever be remastered with updated CGI.

Unfortunately, no. Its quite hard to find…

Exactly……also, , the deer hunter, Night of the Living Dead.

China’s Little Devils … :smiling_imp:

1. Billy Jack

2. Jonathan Livingston Seagull

I think I saw that cleaned up on TV decades ago when I was a kid.

Maybe I should watch the uncensored version because I don't remember it very well.

Definitely “borrow” a copy and watch it. It’s a keeper.

Like “The Terminator”, it’s one of those movies I could watch over and over and never get tired of it.

Honorable mentions:

“Mississippi Burning”

“In The Heat Of The Night”

“Alien” and “Aliens”

“Runaway”

whole buncha others.

Blood diamond, there will be blood, gangs of new york, lost in space, Troy

I grabbed it when it was first released (was actually on a waiting list), and picked up the 3 Disc Intrada remaster when it came out.

Like you it remains one of my favorite soundtracks.

The Tom Selleck one?

Yep!

Talking 'bout "Runaway"...

I can really recommend to you guys the movie "Runaway Train" with Jon Voight in one of his best roles ever. It's a quite old movie but still thrilling without using this CGI stuff. I can also recommend the great soundtrack.

If you want to watch the full movie, it's on youtube...
