I wish people would not phrase their questions like this. It’s very negative. Just ask how the project is going.
If you want it to be dead you can unsubscribe and forget about it.
If you want to know the truth, you have to be patient.
Sometimes projects get cancelled because they know the costs don’t make sense. Sometimes projects get put on the back burner until the company gets caught up with backordered stuff.
I’m assuming this project is still going forward, but Sofirn is working on a lot of things at once, so development is slow. They might be waiting on a new driver design to support Anduril or maybe waiting on ToyKeeper to tweak the software, etc… You just never know until they speak up and give an update. Even updates are few and far between. I just assume the project is going forward unless I hear otherwise.
As JasonWW already said, Lexel has an appropriate 6V FET driver that fits both into the Convoy L6 and Sofirn SP70. It uses the Infineon OptiMOS 5 MOSFET and can use NarsilM or Andúril for the user interface.
Sofirn has a wonderful UI (very much dislike the default ramping direction of Andúril-should go down, not up; also nice is going back from turbo is a no-brainer). I wish the BLF SP70 would work like this.
Warm light would be really really nice. And an SMO reflector.
Depends on how long you are willing to wait. I assume it will still take some weeks or months before the BLF edition is ready to manufacturing. We have yet collected a lot of great ideas but wait for Barry to feedback. Moreover, it would be great to hear some updates about the SMO reflector that still had some room for improvement.
Ok… I have banggood 1000 points… it is $10 off. Kind of a good deal… I can choose banggood shipped sp70 from US warehouse… where is banggood US warehouse located ?
The current version has plenty current and output but among other things (see the OP) we would like to see a smooth reflector with well-focused led, and that is not to be modded in, so that is why we wait for the BLF version.
Haven't heard anything. SP70 is just as good a candidate for modding as the new L6 with XHP70.2. Still needs a new driver, still needs a spring bypass. L6 can probably be had slightly cheaper *shrug*
No, the new light your thinking of is not based on the SP70. It’s a different version of the S70/S70S with it’s smaller head, etc… They mention that the interface is simpler than on the SP70, but not that the light itself is based on the SP70. I think this wording confuses a few people. See below.
Interested in the BLF version. OP reflector and XHP70.2 is good with me. I’d rather not have the SST line. Would definitely prefer warmer tints though, 3000-4000k options would be wonderful. I’d probably buy a 3000k and a 4000k. And I’m willing to pay much more for a built-in-charging option. Hey, no name Jiaheng line from Aliexpress can do it why not Sofirn?
