What Littokala cells did you try? I used the original blue 26650 Littokala cells for my test. I think my spring bypass is 20awg but i still have both springs.
I would reflow my LED but i want to keep this with the SST40 i just wanted to try the XHP50.2 in here. I might buy a second one if i have the funds.
I Love my oem sst 40 6500k cw led astrolux ft03 it illuminated the entire side of Mt Scott at the Wichita wildlife refuge with a imren purple 4200 mah 26650 which is fairly new
Yea same i love my stock FT03 i will end up buying Another one that is a XHP50.2 edition its ao much fun.
With the dedomed SST40 it throws great 340kcd and is so bright and most importantly its very competitively priced thus belongs on every BLF members to buy list.
These are quite decent. These are 10A and are what I bundle with the Astrolux FT03 in my online store. You don’t want to have a higher drain cell with the SST40
My favorite part is where every one calls me a liar for saying the XHP50.2 can’t do 4k lumens lol.
I will upload another beam shots only video in a few days. The beam profile on this setup is perfect even better than the L6 and S70. But i do prefer the L6/S70 because of the extra run time given on that format.
I want to buy another FT03 but i have to chose between buying a new set of pliers Channellocks made in the USA or one of these lights. Sigh!
I have a set of NWS pliers but i wanted one for electronics only so i don’t get grease every where. I found these Channellocks for a good price they seem decent? The Channellocks are also VDE rated.
I stick to 10A max 26650 cells for the SST40 version. Some have reported 9+ Amps on Turbo which is too high the the SST40. There’s a chance you’ll shorten it’s life
Nah it will be fine! My Littokala cells are just as high drain i think. So far no one has killed a SST40 by over amperage unless it was on the test bench. A bunch of us have killed many by trying to dedome them or even slicing the domes far more dangerous.
