Anyone near Southern California feel the earthquake?

I tried finding pics or a story online and have not yet been successful. Have you seen either Jon?

I’ve been thru many and could tell it was a good one….frim 200 miles away in Oxnard.
First thing I thought about was how many batteries do I have charged.SMH

It woke my 2 kids and wife, put the news on and was surprised at how far the epicenter was….

Earthquake just now (8:23pm) in Las Vegas. Was watching the NBA summer league game, Knicks vs Pelicans. Scoreboard and speakers hanging from the ceiling swaying back and forth at Thomas & Mack arena.

I think I felt this one.

It was a rolling earthquake, but we're so far away from the epicenter, we're fine.

Swarming….I hope no one is hurt.

I guess I’m too drugged up to notice. I got a hip replacement a couple days ago. I was standing and talking on the phone to someone in town who felt it, but all I got was hearing the wind chimes make noise when there was no wind . . .

I felt both earthquakes. Normally I sleep though them or they are usually milder. I am definitely NOT prepared for the big one.

Not here, nope.

I also have not found pics online, will have to snap one tomorrow

I hope you heal fast after the hip work
and that your pain levels stay suppressed

I had mentioned just 2 days ago that the lack of wind made it feel like earthquake weather… next day a big crack in the cliff… stay tuned for the photo op

Hope everyone is OK, I wonder if this could be the prelude to “The Big One”?
:open_mouth:

I felt both a tiny bit over on this side of the border, the first I only noticed since some kitchen ornaments started swinging a little.
They weren’t too small either so no wonder they were felt a bit all the way down here.

All clear here of course. Thought we did have one, fairly close; I felt several years ago. Very strange feeling in this part of the country… :open_mouth:

Thanks Jon, so far so good. As of today I’m planning to ditch the walker, and use a cane or hiking poles only. Still taking the narcotics, but hoping to ditch those in a few days.

Looking forward to the picture!

Good advice .. I think harbor freight has some really good ones .make sure and stock up on AAA heavy duty batteries too !

Don't forget to buy that $4 angle grinder you've been saving up for too.

What’s sad is that they’ll actually do just that.

Pfft. Your flashlight only has 1 LED, but mine has 9!…

I wouldn’t be surprised if many (most?) people feel that they don’t need a flashlight since they can just use their phone’s flashlight app.

That’s what my kids do. It works as long as their is a place to recharge your phone. But earthquake damage to infrastructure is a different situation . . .

Yeap my son-in-law feels that all he needs is his cell phone. Try as I might I just can’t convince him that a real flashlight is needed for emergencies. And with us living in San Francisco a real emergency can happen at any time. I have a few thousand dollars in earthquake supplies and he just laughs thinking that it’s a waste of money.

Lucky for him, and my daughter and granddaughter, that they live with us in case a big quake hits :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I love those types…

In a real emergency, they’ll waste precious battery-juice on a crappy light, then be tapped out when they need the phone most.
