scintillator, nydude - :MAIL:

it use nichia e21 led, so it should be accurate
AFAIK, it’s the highest CRI LED pen light in the world right now

Code please for pen L1. Thanks

I’m interested in the penlight but I have reservations.

Will this run on 2 x AAA/NiMH cells at a lower output?

Interested in penlight code, please.

What color temp is the led?

nope( tested with enelop ni-mh)

Pm's sent

That’s a bummer. The oddball battery will be the first thing to go out and they are hard to find. :person_facepalming:

I should receive my Pen L1 any day. The wait has seemed like an eternity, since I really want to get it in my shirt pocket and start using it.

Is it me or do the runtimes on the L1 make no sense?

The real runtimes should be about twice the C1 runtimes, since the Pen L1 battery is about twice the capacity.

Folomov apparently just copied the specs of the C1 and didn’t actually test the Pen L1.

Please send me a coupon for the PEN L1. Also, where can additional batteries be purchased for the PEN L1?

Thank you!

Sounds like a single dummy AAA and a single 3.7V li-ion AAA would support the listed runtimes (since those are for a different model with a smaller battery).

But, recent capacity tests of the included battery show it to be about 2x the capacity of the battery in the C1, so no dummy + AAA Li-ion.

The 10900 in the PEN L1 has twice the capacity of the 10440 in the C1, yes? So why wouldn't a 3.7V 10440 be able to supply half the capacity?

Sorry, I thought that you were suggesting that the 10900 battery in the L1 is a 10440 with a dummy cell all under the same skin and that’s how Folomov got their specs. Someone else had suggested that before, but the 10900 capacity test performed by a member showed twice the capacity of a 10440.

If you want to use a 10440 plus a dummy 10440 cell, that might possibly work to get the same runtimes as the C1, which actually runs on a 10440.

Yes! Using a 10440 plus a dummy cell should be the equivalent of using a 10900 with half a charge, which would give the runtimes of the C1. And the reason I posted it is because finding a spare 10900 is very difficult (I haven't found a supplier yet).

Mine shipped 6-18-19 and I still haven’t received them. I hope they didn’t get lost.

Mine shipped on 07-16-19. Tracking indicates that the current whereabouts is Illinois—I’m in CA. ETA is 08-08.
