[M4D deal ACTIVE] Astrolux FT04 groupbuy $37.99!! (SST-40-P2 – 2500LM – 1000M Throw)

The lack of a e s t h e t i c s makes me skip this deal. Haikelite needs to work this part out, their designs are imho not very appealing. Like the recent model with blue bezel and that bling blang golden switch :confounded:

Feel the same way. Everything after the SC26 is just meh to me.

I would be skeptical of those measurements because we have no idea how his pvc tube was calibrated. This is an important bit of info.

It looks like the charger that the Convoy BD series lights use. A plus is that it’s waterproof, a minus is it’s easy to loose the adaptor. Kind of an odd choice.

I mean, bare LED output could reach 3000 lumens,

The P2 SST-40 has on average 13% higher luminosity.

And looking at koef’s test:

With a 13% improvement, 3000 lumen output from a bare LED would be possible, and at 90% efficiency optical efficiency, 2700 lumens on turn on would be possible.

No flashlight is 90% efficient. I use 75% as a general average. I also don’t count the lumens you see for a split second on the meter right at turn on. Doing so just confuses people. I try to give more of an ANSI FL1 type reading. (Certain lights don’t last 30 seconds, so I might do a 15-20 second measurement) I think the FL1 specs are a more fair and realistic measurement that people can relate to.

I try for years now to convince the manufacturers to use "peak power" and "continuous power"

interested, please send me a PM

I’m confident if you measure OTF, at 30 seconds, and with an honest calibration, this light does not get past 2500 lumen.

then its wrong to make people believe it does 3000 lumens, why not put and use honest lumens instead? this is better…

my thought exactly. SC26 is my last Haikelite until something interesting that is.

They probably sell more units by exaggerating the output. Common business practice, especially in China. Nothing new.

interested but wait a XHP5.02 3V on same body

That may or may not happen. There is no mention of it.

Lost my faith that they never send replacement driver for Haikelite MT09R and the communication went silient.

Haikelite did lower the Current to 8A and remeasured the FT04 with 2500 Lumen

Anyone know the cd on this? Thanks.

If they say 1000 meter throw, that is 250kcd.

i am in the same boat. no driver replacement for MT09R despite 10+ of emails.

What were they thinking…I’d be interested if was dedomed. 3 LEDs would’ve been nice as well.
