Reliable charger for NiMh & Li-Ion

Hello,

i need a reliable charger for eneloop Pro batteries, some 16430 and 18650’s. The charger is for my dad so it should be quite simple to use. Most of the time he will be charging is eneloop cells.
I’ve had two Fomolov A2 chargers which charged Li-ions just finde but did overcharge all the eneloop cells, resulting in a top voltage of over 1.70V - dont ask me why… (charge current was 1A).

Preferably a 4 channel charger - a 2 channel charger would be ok as well.
Limit: ~25€

It would be great if the charger is available at nkon.nl.

Thanks in advance
Pascal

Most of the nitecore series meet the requirements and are widely available. Lots of different models and different number of channels

I just bought a liitokala li500 on sale, I think it was around $25.
It just came in. It’s easier than my opus was to use ( not that opus was at all difficult.)
The new Li 500 is a great charger so far, it’s very simple

/\ +1 for the Lii 500 or 500S

I think I have. 500 “S” it’s a nice charger! Looks like it has a USB out too!

One thing to note — both the Lii-500 Engineer and the new Lii-500S have a USB-out port, but have different functions.

On the Lii-500 Engineer, the USB-out port is a powerbank function (when power is disconnected, and there are li-ion batteries in the charger, it will be converted to “power-bank”.

On the Lii-500S, the USB-out port is a USB charger — it will only work when power is connected, and does not work as a powerbank.

Thank you guys!

Well I checked out the LiitoKala 500 and according to a few reviews it seems to overcharge batteries over time if left in the charger. That’s not the sort of simple and safe charger I would want to give to my father.

So I ended up ordering a Xtar VP4 Dragon Plus from nkon for own purposes. It will replace my Golisi S4 I been using as main charger. And that one will go into my fathers hands.

I thought it may be power bank function. That is disappointing.
I hope I’d doesn’t over charge, I will have to check with a multimeter

Sounds good, I will look into the overcharge issue. I don’t like that either

There were posts , that it may overcharge by 0.01V a day when the battery is full and been left in the charger.

Oh, that’s no big deal for my use. If anything I’ll leave them in while I am busy, the most they would ever stay is 8 hours or so. Normally they are off within hour of full charge

Thanks for that info d_t_a, I did not know that.
I could care less if it is a ‘power bank’, I would never use that. But…. I might actually use it as a USB charger at times.

Good move Liitokala…… :+1:

it is unwise to charge LiIon unattended, I do not leave them on a charger overnight

fwiw, this is a very versatile NiMh and LiIon charger

I like the look of that. I wonder if it terminate at the right voltage?
That would be great for I. The car charger on the way to work or camping.

imo yes, click for more pics and details
