I Bought EVERY Flashlight at Bass Pro!

I could use a new Subaru Outback, Toyota rav4, or Honda Pilot if you’re still in the buying mood  . I guess doing this at lowe’s or cabela’s would be redundant? Are you going to give Walmart a shot, though I don’t think you will top the bass pro selection

I thought about Walmart before I did Home Depot, but it would be hard to film there. Where I live* all* the lights are in a glass case. Bass Pro was not easy. Very loud water fall and even louder copywrited music playing over the top of that. Plus hordes of people etc. I try very hard not to make anyone feel uncomfortable when I’m filming, and try not to let them even know to avoid being asked not to. At Home Depot it was perfect, no one ever really approached/noticed me at all, only one employee knew and she was fine with it. Said I could put her in the vlog if I wanted but I had to cut that part for time sake. At Bass Pro I had to record with them around, so I asked the two you saw in the video if they wanted to be on the vlog or not and they both said they were okay with it.

Right now I am basically flying under the radar with this stuff. Most stores in general if you want to get official permission it can be done but there is a lot of red tape and I doubt my channel is big enough they’d be willing to cut any of it yet.

Are you re-selling these after your review to recoup some of the cost? I think it is fabulous that you are doing this but dang, that is a lot of cost. On top of the fact that Bass Pro is a little pricey to begin with.

I will eventually. If the series is popular I would like to do a couple more stores, and then a video that outlines what I think are the very best you can do from all of them. After that I will sell off 90% of them at a healthy discount.

That is a lot of money to spend at once. :person_facepalming:

Hope that after seeing the video Bass Pro reaches out to you and at the very least says Thank you. :+1:

That was illuminating to watch, I always enjoy watching your informative videos.

Thank you for making it happen.

Just googled this, I see that Bass Pro acquired Cabela's a couple of years ago ($4 Billion).

When are you going to hit Harbor Freight? This will hit close to home on “budget”

Exclusive sneak preview of VOB’s next upcoming video:

I bought EVERY car at the Toyota/Lexus dealer!

:innocent: :money_mouth_face: :innocent: :money_mouth_face:

Loved the video! Thanks for “taking thirty-seven for the team”. :stuck_out_tongue:

This series is great!

I think you'd get many views if you bought lights from Academy Sports. Wasn't sure but I found they're in Missouri, too.

Costco lights would be great to review. Though, you’d end up having to buy 3 of every light.

Dollar-store lights would also be fun. A lot cheaper, too!

Will take the LED Lensor MT18. Of course, that will be the one light you keep.

Funny video. Even if not exactly cheap the LED Lenser flashlights look pretty good, namely due to their optical system imho. I would love to get something with such optic system as a host. Moddable, of course.

It could be a funny idea to invest some “hefty” money in a pile of inexpensive flashlights from china (AliExpress, FastTech, eBay, etc). It would be really funny to see many apparently good looking models with cut to death corners (to later be used as shooting :-D targets or some other funny mischief) and of course I am sure many pretty decent flashlights would be found which could be used as hosts. O:)

Cheers :-)

I had a good chuckle over this video as I had my breakfast this morning - I did think you’re kinda crazy for having spent that much on flashlights, but your enthusiasm when reviewing them made it look like money well spent

The LED Lensers looked the most interesting due to them being zoomies. That’s still such an unusual thing, but so useful. Great video, remember us all when you’re a YouTube star

Not to discount what you are doing or ruin your enthusiasm, but I’m very, VERY glad that we have this forum to find lights with up to date emitters, quality threads, springs, boards and switches, better fit and finish, more flexible/advanced UIs and most of all, offering them at a better price.

I feel fortunate that I even know about this forum and the Chinese lights that perform so well. I’m grateful for my Convoy, Astrolux, Emisar, Sofirn and BLF lights. It would be a sad day if I had to rely on big box store lights.

Do you think you’ll ever do a comparison of the lights featured here compared to their closest competitor from the big box stores? Lots of work, but just a thought. Thanks for your hard work and passion.

If you want to film at Walmart contact Media Relations. There is a form at Walmart.com to fill out and they do a pretty good job responding. I was a manager at a Walmart store for years and we had home office contact us and allow people to film for various reasons.

this was really funny!

This is actually a great idea for a series of reviews! I often see friends buying a flashlight from a known-brand or from a chain store and think “ah, they should have gotten an X instead!”, it’d be interesting to see some reviews that compare the (usually more) expensive high street lights with a “cheap chinese” equivalent.

Something like a Fenix TK7 versus an AstroLux S43 or similar.

Another great video, love your stuff :+1:

I feel really sad for people who buy anything at a big box store . the fact they spent too much makes them become entrenched into the thought that the light they just paid too much for is a great light . It's like all the Nebo's or Coast lovers,Cops with streamlights or climbers with Petzls .All wanting to defend what most people know are "If not junk" than just a really poor purchasing decision .

I'm like lots of people on the forum and enjoy almost anything that puts out light....But paying too much is just insanity .

So at $1900 for 22 lights you have 86$ in each

Wouldn't it have been easier to buy 22 Zebralights ?

What's next cutting yourself ?...Take them back !!!! While you still have the receipt.

Keep this up and we're taking away your BUDGET light membership .

Next time try... Goinggear or Illum.com

I agree, if the product and the box are still in new condition just return them. It’s far better for your wallet, the products, and the environment than the other options.
