Lumintop GT micro

look what i saw on mad max fb page… gt nano is coming soon

I got the GT nano prototype the other day. The first design was not giving the output I expected so made a few changes that should improve things.

Trying to pick the LED for this light actually. The white flat is interesting but sourcing them can be hard and only CW tint.

What is the best version of the white flat model number wise to have them look for it? I loose track of all those flat LED model numbers.

KW CSLNM1-TG.

That is the 3030-size small die (1mm2) version that you want for a mini-thrower like this.

Mind that this led needs a different than usual centerpiece to fit the 3030-size led.

It is at least available at all the “western” sellers Mouser, Digikey, RS. And our led4power.com of course.

This is what LED4Power is selling

This is what Hank is selling at his store

Great, thanks for that. I have passed it on so we will see what they come up with.

I just tested the GT Micro with the known best 14500 cells on the market. The new Shockli 14500 1000 mah matches the output of the previous king of high current 14500, Windyfire 600mah but with much more capacity. Very impressive. The output with these cells make this light almost as bright as the GT Mini and D1S. The Shockli also beats Sanyo UR14500P by a large margin, which was the previous best overall 14500.

The GT Micro just became much more interesting.

thanks for sharing your findings!

nassagus, check to be sure your emitter isn’t grounding on the negative pad at the MCPCB, a small solder ball from the re-flow can do this. Use a multi-meter to check at the bottom of the MCPCB and the negative pad, if it has continuity you need to re-flow the emitter again.

$26 on Amz US right now.

I’m trying to decide between the micro or the X5.

Basically the same price right now.

Somebody sell me on one or the other.

Both.

Resistance is futile.

 You’re probably right.

I was trying to behave.

I’ll start next year.

I gave in and bought a GT Micro. At the price, I’ll live with the cool white.

I really need to stop coming to this site… I’m not sure if I’m thankful or annoyed at people posting price drops of things.

In, for ~$28 delivered.

Yeah I can’t help myself. Check a bookmarked Lightning Deals page and next thing you know I am one-click ordering a non-essential light (but after 2 or 3 how many are really essential anyways).

I try to at least not by something too similar to what I already have. This one is rather unique.

Misery loves company

Goggle this site and see how many times I start a comment with “I hate you guys…”.

Yep, I gave in as well… My first 2020 gift to myself !

On my last hike I used the FW3A, but the throw was simply too low to see far enough on critical parts at night. I hope this can fill that void. Weight to throw ratio looks promising! Good enough excuse to convince myself I NEED another light :person_facepalming:

I gave up trying to make excuses on why I need another light about 100 lights ago lol.
