Negative Duv at 100 lumens? Either I got 2x crappy SST-20’s or the 10509 is working magic.

oops! should be positive. fixed now.

I got a shipping notice yesterday. After having requested an upgrade to the cree emitters, after multiple refund requests to multiple email addresses after lensgate, 3 weeks ago when refunds were being offered.

After lensgate, I decided not to go through with an SST-20 variant order I had placed, since I got a XPL HI variant from the first batch. As offered by Neal, I requested a refund and received it in full within a day. I contacted him through forum PM though, maybe that made a difference.

After I made a comment 3 weeks ago about how I hadn’t received any communication from this guy, some wildly inappropriate responses were made. One of the guys was insinuating that because I didn’t send a PM that somehow I was doing something wrong. If a PM is the only way to get a response out of this guy, why doesn’t he say that on the website where he takes your money? Why even on THIS SITE does Neal list email addresses he has no intention of checking and responding to?

What does not help attracting what you call appropriate responses is repeatingly calling Neal (who has been around on this forum for years) “this guy”. Further, this is an internet forum so you can always expect some responses that are less than thoughtful, it helps to not to get too upset by them.
Mind that Neal did a lot of good things in the development of flashlights for BLF so that is why “this guy” has quite some credit over here. Unfortunately communication is not his greatest talent but he is doing a better job at that than some other chinese sellers and at least he shows many good intentions.

I may have saw it at one point and then forgot… What is the CRI for the XP-L HI 7A (WW 3300K) emitter? I bought a 7A light in the group buy.

Do we know the order code for the emitters so I can see it on the datasheet?

Guessing E7 or F7 kit?

What voltage bin?

The 7A is 80 CRI, as 3000K Cree leds are all 80 CRI minimum. It would be a first for Lumintop to mention order codes, I have not seen one.

Understatement of the year.

So it’s ok to make unprovoked bizarre sexual comments because this is an internet forum, but it’s not ok to refer to neal as “this guy” because you’ve gotten a neat flashligt or two? Do I have that right? You people are very interesting.

Ok, I wasn’t sure if 80, 85 or 90 since I see all of those available for 3000 and 3250K if I’m reading the datasheet correctly…

At this point, your comments are just provoking the forum.

@Robin Dobbie: Please drop the subject. You have already made it abundantly clear that you are unhappy with Neal and that the transaction didn’t go as planned. Any further comments to that effect in this thread will do nothing to get you your flashlight, but it will lead to an unpleasant atmosphere for participants in this thread and provoke arguments. So please stop stirring the pot. Thanks in advance.

I don’t think all 3000K Cree leds are 80CRI minimum. The XP-L2 7A V4 I got from Kaidomain is measured at 72CRI.

That’s the XP-L2.

Even at 3000k, it’s not going to reach 80CRI unless 100% specified.

So how are the chances that my second light get’s shipped?
Neal did not reply to my email but since the address created so many issues with the first light I would like to make sure, that the second get’s send correctly right away.

Edit: ohh shit, I just noticed that the original shipping notice, says, that both lights should have been in it o.O dammmmmmn…
I only ever received one of them Sad and thought the second would arrive later….

https://youtu.be/oaX-GnxmpVU Sad there was just one light in the shipment o.O

So far only the warm white got to me Sad

Does your customs open packages? I’m wondering if it is possible they were not both put back in.

It was “reshipped” so it possibly never saw customs…
German customs are well trusted and I would be shocked to learn about something getting stolen.

It needed 3 attempts of shipping to reach me, because the person/company who does the shipping here in Germany f’ed up the address on the package… the actual delivery was done by DHL and the package was in good shape (did not suspect anything at the time).

I think something went wrong there.. and maybe someone who only ordered one light, now got tow of them.

Although it is none of my business, your delivery scheme sounds complicated to start with… Why not get it shipped where you are? This is likely the source of your problem because of an additional reshipping, possibly abroad… Unless i misunderstood. I can’t tell.

In my five+ years experience, it always gets delivered in 10-20 days, whatever the chinese seller with free or almost free shipping. I just order and forget, and someday it shows up. Whatever the address i’m at in France. I would expect as much in Germany.

Excessive expectation and parcel tracking fosters anxiousness too. Wink

Just checked the datasheet, all XP-L HIs 3500K and below are 80 CRI minimum. This isn’t true for the HD and certainly isn’t a hard and fast rule for other Cree emitters.
