Price is good, but that button is gonna drive me nuts lol, silly place to have it. Anybody have experience with the nicron adjustable angle head flashlight? On sale for $10, has tail magnet but not a headlamp kit
oops, sorry for that huge pic, I dont know how to resize it properly, adjusting height and width, just seems to make it tiny thumbnail….I’ll just remove the pic, dont want to screw the thread up
I’ve had that one for ~ 6 months. Great little AA/14500 light. Good build quality. 600 lumens on a 14500. Samsung led with nice neutral tint. Hidden strobe/sos so it’s ‘hi lo off’ in that order. Unscrew tail cap for lockout. Strong magnet. Glad I bought it…
On the topic of using the N7 as a headlamp, I’ve found that the headband with the Sofirn SP40 (which is extremely tight on an 18650 tube) fits the N7 just perfectly.
So if you’ve got that light lying around, or are able to order the headband separately from Sofirn, then your N7 can be a nice budget AA headlamp.
Thanks goshdogit, looks reasonable for a non-moonlight low. Between that and the fact the SP40 band works well with it, I may give it a go. :+1:
pretty classic marketing on this. I found the review goshdogit linked to, and the reviewer comments about getting it for $13.99 on Amazon, which is the current “sale” price. Of cource you save another $4.20 with prime, making it a decent deal, but not the barn burner I originally thought. Still going to pick one up.
Also interesting the reviewer commented the light had better run times on the 14500. The manual disagrees, and I suspect with an eneloop the run time will better, albeit not as bright. 250 lumen and 40 lumen sounds good to me.
Pretty happy with these 2, Aurora blows away Nitecore tip in output and is so much more compact, good accesorries package as well.
Tool 2.0 works really well & bright with NIMH, perfect beam, they tweaked it a lot from version 1, better tailcap, clip seems stronger, PWM is gone, length a little shorter, but crappier lanyard and packaging, still a great value at $12 from that deal.
I think that 600 is a bit of a reach, I don’t see much difference from nimh and a 14500, for $10 it’s a decent light, I do notice it cuts out briefly when you attach the magnet to a surface or tap the bottom hard, I cant get it to do this by shaking it, so it only loses contact briefly on that type of impact, not too big of a deal tho. Could use a third brightness level but can’t complain too much for the price point.
