Did you consider sampling a real candle to infer some kind of brightness stochastic function or frequency set? - just making that up. Using a long sample would be best IMO, but would require too much memory i imagine?

Yes, actually. I adjusted candle mode specifically for this light… and also have been putting it on a table full of actual candles for comparison. It’s not perfect, but it’s not bad either. The overall brightness pattern is random, but it looks like this on a graph:

I also gave it a mode where it can change tint automatically with brightness, which affects all other modes. When used in candle mode, it should give at least a subtle coloration effect, but it’s not very noticeable.

Basically, at each end of the tint ramp, there’s an “auto” mode. One is warm when dim and cool when bright, and the other is cool when dim and warm when bright.

I think the auto-tint thing looks best when using lightning storm mode.

I was curious, so I dumped the list in Excel to get a count.

It looks like somebody who is generous and wants his friends and family to have the best.

The runner up is on the list for 8 and wants his pals to be well illuminated in deep, dark, Baja Mexico.

Right now, it’s what we call “vaporware”. It’s a product that is announced but yet to be made. DBSAR has indicated that work on V2 will not commence until after V1 is finished and available for sale. Then again, a lot of the work that went into V1 will obviously carry over to V2.

The future V2 or “LT2” will be a more expensive deluxe version, with all the goodies & design of this LT1, but with some added features, as in adding a power-bank feature, possible wireless remote control, built in dawn/dusk timer, motion-on/off sensor, and maybe even an alarm clock. and other classified additions. :sunglasses:

I realize you’re just one person, but if too many people did that, the LT1 wouldn’t be made, and therefore, the LT2 wouldn’t get a chance either. :cry:

Besides, it will be a while before the LT2 comes about. You should consider how much longer you’re willing to wait.

Unlike most on this site I’m happy to wait for the better product and not have 2 of them with one being inferior.

Lucky I’m the minority but yes I see your point.

its planned production date is 2056, with new regenerative quantum power cell instead of 18650s.

Also the deluxe version with be much more expensive, and its not even a confirmed project yet.
