I received my Lumintop EDC05C yesterday. I am relatively pleased with the light concept and function but with a few disappointments.
The Micro USB charge port is not centered, so the light body makes for a very difficult time inserting the provided USB cable to charge the battery. I am unable to insert the micro USB into the light I received to charge.
Secondly, the USB rubber boot cover is very flimsy and completely pops off when trying to access the charge port. I have not been successful with the reinstallation of the rubber Micro USB port cover.
I’m planning on sending Lumintop and Banggood a note regarding my findings.
I have sent a detailed email with photos to Lumintop and Banggood regarding my findings. We shall see what sort of response I receive. I will post the communications I receive in this thread.
I’ve not got much confidence in lumentop lately on QC , they usually make good stuff but can be a bit hit & miss with details , eg gt mini switch , fw3a sloppiness , a few but not many blfgt’s were a bit wonky, & I have an HLAAA ,With the first one I got a refund because it’s tint was VERY green & the second one was a nice white tint BUT it has a design floor ,the first one had it & the second one also had it & I suspect every one of them has it but no one else has noticed, the fault is , when the aaa battery is low ( you can tell when that happens because you can only get low & medium & it won’t go in high) you then can turn the torch off ,it will only switch off if you unscrew the tailcap & or take the battery out.
That is encouraging news. Please post a photo of the centering of the Micro USB Charge port on your light for comparison. I would find it most helpful.
Part of your port looks bent to me. If it is that would certainly prevent insertion.
Look closely at the bottom right of the port in the picture below.
I am interested to hear feedback from new owners as these roll out. I really like the combination of cool thrower and warm CRI area side light. Very nice UI and simple to select outputs.
Received my edc05c today, my lens is not sitting tight. If I shake the light, you can hear it moving.
I assume it will not be waterproof that way.
What a shame, otherwise it could be one of my favorite edc lights.
A missing o-ring/gasket between the lens and the reflector (or between the bezel and the lens, as the case may be) might explain both the displaced charging port and the rattle.
