but it doesnt hold up heat very well or ? atleast the l6 i can run turbo almost nonstop and its not that heavy when i touch the head⌠i think the ft03 is better have the sst40 version and u get better throw and less heat.
Heat is not the issue. The major issue would be battery drainage the FT03 would last less than half the time of the L6 or S70 at max brightness.
Is the 3v xhp50.2 a direct swap for the sst-40 version of ft03?
Yes it is. Xhp 50.2 also has same footprint as sst 40, so you can even reflow it to the existing mcpcb yourself, if you have sst 40 version

Is there a stateside vendor with competively priced FT03 with XHP50.2 ?
Newbe question: is there such a thing as an XHP70, and if it does exist, what would
The difference be?

I see HSP and thatâs what I think sorry, getting carried away.
XHP70 and 70.2 definitely exist, and theyâd physically fit in the FT03, but the issue is that I believe theyâre mostly 12v. Thereâs apparently 6v variants, though. Compared to the 50.2, itâs the same kind of âwall-of-lightâ profile, just bigger.

Thanks for your response!
Acronyms bring out the dyslectic in me.

Does the 50.2 have the same FET driver as the SST40 version?
Hey mate yea the same driver.
This XHP50.2 is a 3v variant.
I havenât been able to find a stateside vendor for astrolux flashlights. I would like to see one.

Banggood will get it to you in around two weeks.
I prefer the earlier (less lumins) version.
It has much longer throw.
But both are well worth having.

Does this require a 3V 50.2, or will a 6V work?
I donât find any 3V for saleâŚ

I think I remember reading that it was the same driver as the SST40 model, so Iâm guessing no (if thatâs the case).
(Okay yeah I read it a few posts above oops; didnât scroll up)
