Aliexpress - never again

there is nothing with aliexpress, different seller used the different way,
sometime it is shipping agent problem

Ali has “upgraded” their iPhone app so it no longer works with iOS 7 (my old hand-me-up phone given to me when the young folks in the family bought newer ones).
Apple used to offer an older version but doesn’t in this case. My iPhone won’t accept a newer version of iOS (v8 is necessary for the new Ali app).
And the app I have been using won’t work at all, just offers an update that won’t work with my iPhone.

Left behind by progress ….

Of course Ali offers no way ontheir website to ask for them to allow me to continue shopping with them.

I didn’t mean it in a manner of disrespect Teacher. Just pure, innocent ignorance. I don’t own a convoy but the bang for the buck has always been alluring.

Any chance anyone can link me his store?

Search for Convoy

That doesn’t exactly tell me this sellers story though? I guess I can assume it’s “convoy flashlight store”

Simon’s been around quite a while, and has his own thread on here:

I’ve found him to be great at taking feedback and he’s happy to help people out if something isn’t quite right.

I’m cheap so I’ve bought lots of stuff from China on eBay and recently discovered Aliexpress and Bangood, and also other what I call Americanese shops like TomTop that shop from the US and mainland China. Things I look for when buying from the far East. The seller rating and feedback are first and foremost. Second is the shipping method (do they offer more than one? Like SpeedPak, eship, China Post, etc.) and price. I experience more order failures on items with free shipping.

Avoid buying batteries from China unless you have a verified good seller who sells genuine cells. It’s better to spend $1 extra per cell to get the real ones.

Also, keep your expectations low. You get what you pay for most of the time. Don’t expect to get your order in a week or two or sometimes even 3 weeks. Plan on getting it eventually. Like others have mentioned take tracking numbers with a grain of salt. On cheaper items, like under $5, forget it unless you want a fake transaction ID that perpetually tells you your item is in transit or clearing customs.

I ordered a digitizer for a Chinese tablet and it took the seller a month before I demanded a refund because the tracking showed it was in San fransisco for like 2 weeks. I ordered another one from a known good seller and it was at my door in 10 days. I order drivers from Aliexpress from the Wankedun Chain First Store and am extremely satisfied with the shipping speed and prices. t’s taken several failed orders, but I’ve figured out how to buy from overseas and get good success.

Sirstinky makes very good points.

I'd like to add that if you have a bad experience with one AliExpress seller, I say avoid that specific seller, and in the future try to pick more reliable sellers on AliExpress.

I wouldn't avoid all of AE just because some sellers are not reputable.

There are plenty that are worth buying from.

I understand… :+1:
You really should try Convoy, they are great, solid lights at a very decent price.

Here is the link to Simon’s store on AE you asked for….

Take care….

I’ve ordered many things over the years from AliExpress, and have not had any issues to speak of. My most recent order was a Convoy C8+ that took 16 days to arrive. I usually get their packages in 18-22 days, not to shabby at all.
I’m trying Goodbang for the first time. It has been 15 days so far, we will see how they fare against AliExpress.

Stay away aliexpress, I lost some orders , I contacted sellers, they all let me wait till over dispute time, after that they never replied my messages, and aliexpress didn’t help out. Also, some of my order of seeds of flower were all fake articles.

You just don’t want to order batteries from Aliexpress (or from other Chinese sites) and expect them all to arrive. Period.

You are dealing with shipments of dangerous goods, and most common carriers are not going to allow that. Neither Chinese customs nor IATA will allow this without a proper paperwork. I rely on local sellers for the order of batteries (who, of course, managed to do all the customs paperwork properly), and you should too.

That’s the other part of the equation…know what you’re buying. Do research and use common sense. If it seems fishy like $30 light with a single XHP70.2 with 50,000 lm or a drill with a 10ah battery and 150 volts, then you probably are getting a 2500lm light with a knock off counterfeit led and a 20 volt drill with a 2ah battery. $3 Samsung 30q’s don’t exist. $4 is still pushing it without a discount. If they’re under $4, probably rejects or re wrapped 26F’s.

I bought 18650GAs from a place going out of business below wholesale for $2.80 ea that’s the cheapest I’ve ever seen genuine ones. Just know what you’re getting into when Chinese window shopping.

The kind of energy you project matters. Your consciousness, your energy and your own matter are consequences of yourself and your subconscious beliefs.

In my particular case, I receive my packages quickly and seldom with issues. When issues or mishaps happen I usually get them solved fast, and if sellers refuse or ignore my always fair proposals I kick their arses, i.e. the AliExpress tribunal decides in my favour. I always handle the required evidence and win disputes.

Batteries in AliExpress? Plenty of good ones. But know what you're buying, cheap cells usually come from chinese OEMs, bear this in mind. It's really not bad to buy them, but please do so without fake or unnecessarily spurious wraps.

don’t reply your message, it is his fault
but for shipping, it is not buyer problem , when the package left the seller, they can’t do nothing , only wait same with you . they can’t control his post office , customs . even they can’t contact your post office and customs. even fedex can’t do that , only let you wait . don’t think the seller can do anything
for aliexpress rule, when the shipping time is over 60day, you can put a dispute and win the dispute …
this is aliexpress rule , not seller problem

I have been using aliexpress for around 7 years, and in that time i have made a little over 8000 orders

I would say that around 80% of these went without a hitch , the remainder ended in dispute almost always for non arrival rather than bad goods. most of these cases were resolved by aliexpress judgement rather than the seller.

In this time i have lost my money ONCE because I stupidly allowed the order to time out then closed the dispute when the seller promised to reship (a mistake i did not repeat)

I would also add that in the last couple of years the success rate has been more like 95% I believe this is because sellers have learned which couriers to avoid and tend now to use the more reliable ones.

i’ve ordered probably 150 things in the last 5 years
i would say only about 4 or 5 had problems

they are very decent about problems, i have had things not arrive, i just tell them, they refund

wle

I try very hard to stay away from Aliexpress a s a whole. I have had a whole litany of issues with them and never had a dispute go in my favor. I had several orders of Liitokala official store batteries sent that were clearly counterfeit and never have I had a dispute go in my favor even with overwhelming proof in support. Some items never arrived at all and was not refunded. Tracking numbers are a joke and very seldom track at all. On two occasions I was offered to return the item I bought but shipping from the US to China was far more than the item(s). They know that and that’s their plan.
At times, Aliexpress pricing is the best that can be found and then it becomes a gamble as to whether it’s worth the risk. Small value items (never batteries) is all I am willing to do even though I swore to never again do business with the site again. It’s unfortunate that their customer service and buyer guarantees are completely worthless.

So many factors when buying online be it Bangbad, Gearbad, Alislow, Alimama, Fbay, Amazoom, etc…

You need to know which are the seller to buy from, what forwarder or shipping company they use, price, etc…

For eg, when choosing shipping, my first choice for Aliexpress is “Aliexpress Standard Shipping” when it is free with the product. This is the fastest shipping to my location. As fast as 8 days for my experience. Follow by China Air Registered Mail and Singpost 4PX Pro.

For product, the safest are those labelled or tag : Handle by Aliexpress. Still, sellers are more important.

Yes, someone mentioned it’s the courier seller use. Now from experience, they choose better courier. In a business, who doesn’t want to improve their service is just asking to be close down.

For eg, my latest buy from Aliexpress. I bought some Shockli 21700 battery. Theses are sensitive. Normally option for shipping will be “Seller’s Method”. This is the fastest for my experience. I received them 6 days after I click “PAY” on the button.

Having just completed an 11-11 AX order which only took 10 days from start to finish (in this case, credit to RD tech), I’d reiterate that the best chance of success is ordering from a known, reputable seller, and choosing a reliable shipping method. Anything else, and you take your chances and invite the possibility of dealing with customer service. Which is not something you’d want with any of the Chinese marketplaces, and potentially worse when one acts as both the seller and fulfill-er, like BG and GB.

Tracking reliability can vary, but again, depends on the method. But I will cede that currently, AB’s own logistics/tracking service, Cainiao, is knackered, and seriously lagging behind. Usually, it’s pretty good.

But there are plenty of others to play that role, and for this order, 17track was on the ball.
