Sofirn C01S SST-20 4.000K 95CRI / Low-High version available again!

Sooooo — when can we order the good stuff

shame on aliexpress… useless to buy for me there anymore… not worth it bad shipping options compared to banggood :…

About a month ago I purchased a couple of the "standard" C01S flashlights with default mode of high. I sent an email to Sofirn Customer Service inquiring when more of the default mode low versions would be available.

Per Zoe at Sofirn Light (on 6/13/2019) "Yes, this batch of C01S are from high to low. We will change it to default the low mode. When the batch was sold out. Sincerely sorry to cause this inconvenience."

I replied asking "How much longer do you think it will be until the current (default mode high) C01S are sold out? I can't wait for the default low version."

Zoe replied (on 6/15/2019) "Honestly, we have the default low mode around 20 days ago. But it sold out just 3 days. And the default high mode are on our warehouse. So we decide to sold the high out and then make all the C01S default low.

And we have no idea when the default low will coming out as well. Once it comes out, we will let you guys know on BLF as well as on our facebook groups

Maybe Sofirn would make the default mode low lights available sooner if they received requests from more people? BLF members please let our voices be heard! Their email addresses are us@sofirnlight.com (America) and eu@sofirnlight.com (Europe).

Don't want this thread to die. We need more of these in L-H. Anodized or not.

My new one arrived yesterday  So that’s one more of the old ones going!

Wonder if there’s a way to make a copy of the firmware on the BLF version and transfer it

I’d like to do this to mine as well. Does anyone know how to disassemble the sealed head?

You can actually unscrew the “head” part - grab at the normal “twisty” part and at the “threads” part and unscrew. I did it by accident the other day and surprised myself somewhat.

Anyone tried to run the C01S on 10440 LiFePO4 cells?

:-)

I don’t think so, but if you’re going to try LiFePO, be aware they don’t seem to survive Li-ion:

That was one datapoint. Another user had his survive Li-ion, but that may be because he was using a lower performance cell that couldn’t provide enough current to damage the light. Maybe LiFePO will also be ok, but don’t try it unless you’re willing to risk damaging the light.

For a minute there I thought maybe "nobody" cared. LOL!
Yes -- I completely agree. Who knows how many of the default high mode ones they have to sell. And they won't make any with default low mode until those are gone? Ugghh...

All they need to do to clear the shelves is to price them at $5 each,./…………………………BOOM, problem solved.
Still could happen if they sit in Amazon stock rooms for too long.

Still waiting and hoping.

Let me get this straight. They have to sell the H-L ones to start with the L-H ones. The L-H people are lined up but won’t buy the H-L ones. Now that’s a sticky situation…

im sure either sells good on aliexpress etc…

I will mail Barry and ask the current status.

Let me get this straight for you. Do you believe Sofirn does have actual interest in changing the default C01S driver firmware with a low - high mode order? You better believe so if you aim for it to happen.

So they made a faint interest test, and with such limited data (all units sold to BLF users) they decided to start making the entire C01S production with low - high mode order? Huh?

Much appreciated djozz

Yes — thank you!

Sofirn has been pretty good about giving us what we want. I don’t think people should be rude about any delay here. Whenever they get around to dropping the L-H version in different body colors, I’ll be ready to buy a half dozen or so. The quality and price of this flashlight make it a superb gift option.
