TK's Emisar D4V2 review

Thanks Hank, but . . .

"sorry, the file you have requested does not exist"

There will be definately a specifit D4V2 reflasing thread, including how to use the software and hardware, as soon as the software is installed into your PC, the reflasing process is simple, the whole reflasing process takes about 20 seconds. I hope there will be video to demostrate how to reflash the firmware as well.

As for the price of the reflashing kits, it’s $8.5 including registered shipping for D4V2 owners, while the regular price is $18.5.

Excellent news and thanks for the reply, Hank!

If I remember correctly you said that the kits will be at cost for the first batch of D4V2? Will you have a way to see who ordered from the first batch and sell them at cost or will there be another way? Regardless Im very excited to buy a kit and learn a new skill in the process.

Edit: I have little to no experience with flashing. The only mod I have ever done was removing the orginal bezel of the D4v2 and and adding the stainless steel one. So I guess Im in the same boat as others.

Just sent the file via email

Yes, the regular price is $18.5, the D4V2 owers can buy the kist at $8.5 per one including registered shipping, the cost of the kits is not high, the mian cost is the time to solder the pins onto the pcb precisely, and test them working before shipping.
Basically, all the D4V2 shipped before July, 19 are with muggle mode bug, so, those D4V2 owers can leave their order number and they will buy the kits at $8.5 per one.

Basically, you will see this page when the reflashing process is done.

Just wanted you to know that your reference didn’t fall on deaf ears.

Never mind, got it (was in spam folder). Thanks, I'll see how it goes.

Come to find out, my AVRdude also doesn’t support the Attiny1634. Terry Oregon, would you be able to make the file available?

I’ve got everything ready, even some .bat files to make the flashing easier. Just waiting on Oshpark to finish making and then ship the keys. Didn’t think this would be an issue.

Hank,

When and how do we begin ordering these flashing kits?
Will you be reaching out via email to everyone with a first batch light, so they will have the first chance to order at the lower price?

(BTW, I have two of these muggle bugged DV2s,and have not yet gotten a email warning me about the problem. I hope that I am the exception.)

i’m in the same boat. haven’t heard anything on the glitch in my email. would also like to order my reflash kit asap. this is a great light, with an awesome UI…… when the glitches are worked out so i’d like to get mine in full, proper working order as well.

BREAK OUT THE BAND !!

Finally got it to work with Hank's files. Actually, at first, Hank's files also gave me the t1634 error. However, when I rebooted my computer, everything started working. I suspect that Windows was using a version of avrdude.conf that was in it's memory. That original "conf" file is where support for the all the chip parameters are stored. I think rebooting caused the avrdude.exe to use the new avrdude.conf file. That's my theory.

This is my test jig, the key-pcb is hard-wired to the USB board. The USB board was from Amazon HERE, so I can confirm it works - and it looks exactly like the one Hank is using. I would wear a ground strap if handling these exposed PCBs (they are shipped in anti-static bags).

The answer is just a few posts above.

I assume this will include those who ordered from MTN Elec. in USA…?

Or will MTN stock them too?

Thanks!

Hank has given me permission to post a link to the AVRDUDE installation file he sent me. This was uploaded to my Mediafire account (Hank has problems using google docs in China).

That all sounds great. Thank you!

Do you know when we will be able to place orders (or pre-orders) for the kits? Will it show up as a product on your web site?

lots of questions, clueless about this flashing hardware, software. I do see many knowledgeable folks struggling, requesting upgraded versions of things. I understand the ‘kit’ will be all set up, just plug it into a USB port. I’m not sure how those pins stay on the right places? Where does one get the software, will Hank supply that as well, or is that link that posted a few posts ago the software? And I have a Macintosh, was that for a Mac? Hank said easy peasy, 20 seconds, his daughter could do it.

I’ll keep reading here……

Thanks for the reply.

Is this change only for the D4v2, or is it a global change for Anduril firmware (starting which date release of Anduril firmware)?

It will work with win 10 1903 64 bit ?
