Which mode sequence you prefer

Really irritating to not know whether the next click will be brighter or dimmer . You're wrong 50% of the time So half the time the light is a disappointment .

Also, very important that location beacon (flashing red light on button) has much lower drain in future Skilhunt flashlights.

On H03 the drain is like 2mA

BTW, Andúril ist very good at that. Click and hold for up, Doubleclick and hold for down. Best method when being limited to a single button UI imo.

Sawtooth for me!

Out of those two, I prefer LMHTLMHT. It’s easier and quicker to get back to a low setting and as it was said before, you don’t know if the light is going to get brighter or dimmer when you pick it up.

With a stepped mode light, I would prefer Hold from off to get Moon, hold to scroll through LMHLMH, double click to Turbo whether on or off and a single press to turn it off. That would suit me just fine.

T-S-H-M-L

I know the poll is pretty much decided for at least the few of us that voted, but I’d like to see more votes here, so…

BUMP!

BTW, I voted L>M>H>T>L>M>H>T and I prefer also the following:

  • Last mode memory
  • Direct from off to lowest mode (Moonlight if it is available, or low)
  • Direct from off to Turbo

I voted L>M>H>T>L>M>H>T
Direct from off to lowest mode
Don’t care about memory

I have grown to LOVE the ZL UI and the newest version lets you set it up almost any way that I prefer…….twice!

Of the 2 options in the top of this thread I would choose the 2nd one.

Bistro or blf A6 UI; short press forward, medium press backward/reverse, so you can toggle to high and press some longer to go back to medium for instance.

Thank you very much for your votes and comments!! :+1:

Now I just added two more choices,

1. with sub-levels, so one click is L>M>H>T>L>M>H>T, double click is L1<=> L2 , M1<=> M2, H1<=>H2, T1<=> T2

2.Don’t need sub-levels, so one click is L>M>H>T>L>M>H>T, double click is T>H>M>L>T>H>M>L

Which one you prefer? After votes, then we will change our mode setting in future design. Thank you very much for all your comments and votes again!!

2 cycles.
L.M.H.
With long click to bring in Quick Flash then Intermittent,
for annoying people…

ALWAYS start on the low.
I reckon As soon as you bring in Turbo, you overloading .
Both the battery and system.

Better off pulling that stronger torch out of other pocket hey.
It only lasts for a short while anyway.
Then most drop down automatically.

Uh… the poll will now be skewed since you added new options after votes have already came in :person_facepalming:

I really like the UI of the H03, the hidden sub-levels is absolutely preferable over the second option.

And it is muggle friendly.

anduril ramping is the best

followed by astrolux s1 :
8 steps, fast clicks go up, slow clicks go down, from turbo it goes back to moon
also with selectable mode memory, you can have it on or off

after that would be anything that goes up to max, then to minimum
NOT L-M-H-M-L
terrible

i can think of worse - BLECH - than that but i just ate

wle

Low> Med> Hi >Turbo >Low> Med> Hi >Turbo

I’d like like the option for no memory (always start low) - the flashlight may remember the last mode but I almost never do!

WTFITS?

Hi - Low - Strobe for the win! :-D

:-)

I haven’t voted ,
My choice would be to leave it as it is ,it works fine why change it ? People who already have a skilhunt light know how it works , it works well , why have another skilhunt torch in your armoury with a different ui?
It gets confusing.

Short click to ON (*Low*)/OFF;
Hold from off to Moon,
Hold from Moon to Low, then cycle L>M>H>L>M>… (and maybe long click to cycle backwards)
Double click (both from off and on) to Turbo, only access Turbo through double click.
No memory.

This way it’s predictable, can be turned on by anyone, with only three modes in the main sequence and the other two still easily accessible, but without getting in the way. And even if you hands are too frozen to properly click, you can at least press and hold to get some random level of light.

Just copy the Olight or Acebeam E-switch UI. Very easy to use… Very intuitive…
