[review] Wurkkos WK30 white/red/UV light

Yeah, did notice that about the fins, but it doesnā€™t bug me.

Had to shake it like a cranky baby to get the battery to rattle, otherwise I wouldnā€™tā€™ve even noticed.

Wellp, at least you put the ā€˜tā€™ in there, unlike Bad-Grammar Todd.

No worries.

But see? Canā€™t put it down, can ya?

So far, what I like the most about it is the beautiful white beam.

My most interesting discoveries with the UV at home is the compact fluorescents glow red and the LED house lights glow blue.

The green Palmolive dish soap glows a ghostly green.

The 395nm UV also makes it easy to verify a legitimate IL driverā€™s license.

Detergent residue is on almost every wall.

LB, Man! You can write a review! It just increased my anticipation for mine to arrive!

I really like that the charge rate is one of the best for the USB rechargeables I've tested, ie.:

The cut-off voltage was 4.15V. It slowly ramped down the charge current before it terminated. I then dropped it in the Opus and added a few more mAh, ie:

This is going to be fun to have... at least until the next whizbang contraption comes out!

Right now, I couldn't visually find the switch while using the Hi red level in a dark room.

1.4A charging, and 4.15V cutoff? Nice!

Iā€™d rather charge to slightly less rather than over, so that suits me just fine.

Itā€™s not available anymore.

I can stop playing with it whenever I want to. I just donā€™t want to stop right now. No, really. I can stop anytime.

I really mean it this time ā€¦ :person_facepalming:

I got word from Mark that some more should be available on Amazon today, hopefully.

The red and white strobe alone makes the purchase worthwhile in my opinion.
Overall, yes this is a very enjoyable and useful light.
Iā€™m happy to own one.

There didnā€™t seem to be very many available at Amazon, I wonder if this was a test batch, to see how sales would go.

Yeh, ainā€™t that kewl?

Iā€™ve only seen 5-star reviews at this point, soā€¦

Any idea if it would fit a protected 26650 such as the keeppower 5200?

Pretty sure any 26650 will fit. There are springs on both ends and each spring can compress about 1/4ā€.
For eaxmple- if I remove the tailcap, the battery is already below the end of the tube and can be pressed down about 1/4ā€ deeper, if I unscrew the head, the battery is below the the tube and can again be pressed down about 1/4ā€
Lots of room for long batteries.

Thanks! I've stopped purchasing lights for a long time now unless something different comes along and this one fits the bill. Wish they would have gone with a deeper red, but 720nm isn't too bad. I even find the 730nm on my x80 a little on the orange side.

Got my second one today, cooking the cell in my Opus as I typeā€¦

I was going to order a second, but theyā€™re out of stock.

Bummer.

Iā€™ve decided that my wife probably wonā€™t get this one, though she can be pretty persuasive and, sometimes even scary, when she wants something. I may have to use the police strobe on her.

I ordered one last Saturday. Not Primeā€¦but Free shipping. HASNā€™T shipped yetā€¦ Man, this is the slowest shipping to date ever from Amazon. :smiling_imp:

nice to see so many hopping on the bandwagon and ordering a good light at a good priceā€¦ Hope they get more to Amazon to sell.

Hope more come in soon, before people lose interest. :open_mouth:

Talk about eerieā€¦ First cell clocked in at 5380mAH, second at 5378mAH, only 2mAH off!

(Or was it 5376? Either way, really close.)

Well crap, Amazon is out of them and it is not marked as a backorderā€¦ just flat out.
