New WildTrail (former LuckSun) BLF-D80v2 Sale is open.

Thanks for all you have done on this. You did a great job!

You’re the best

I guess I envy you right now
Man, what a group of neat lights you have there :+1:

Looks very interesting.

I hope I’m not persuaded to buy one. My wallet is already in agony from the last couple months.

WildTrail, you make heart sail, You make everything Groooovy, Oh’ WildTrail.
WildTrail,………. I think I love you, but I got to know for sure.

Well done! He, he.

Alright guys...here's a new draft of the manual for the WildTrail D80 V2. TheOnlyDocc and I would appreciate your feedback and if there's anything missing or to be rectified, we'll be more than happy to hear about it. :-)

Unfortunately, there are still some gaps yet to be filled about the driver. Maybe Lexel could be so kind to provide more detailed information?

  • Is there any LVP in place and if so, at what voltage will LVP be triggered? (I guess so but we need to be sure)
  • Is there any reverse polarity protection in place?
  • Apart from details in the code, is there any big difference between the original BISTRO UI and BISTRO OTSM? If so, is there any UI chart for BISTRO OTSM available yet?
  • At what thermal threshold or timer threshold will the driver trigger a stepdown?

Cheers,

Thomas

Hum, in the text it is mentioned BLF and TLF, but the light only has BLF. Would it be an issue?
Also, maybe the non-anodized photos shouldn’t be on the anodized manuals and vice versa!
So far, my eyes can’t read more stuff :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for your work

TheOnlyDocc did not spare any extra efforts to receiving feedback from TLF users as well.

In a nutshell, yes...it's a contribution and collaboration of both TLF and BLF.

But I don't think anyone will feel angry if the D80 BLF V2 follows the naming convention of other successful lights like Thorfire's BLF Q8.

So, you're suggesting a separate manual for the anodized and non-anodized version?

I'm not sure if this a good idea since it may cause a risk of supplying the wrong manuals with the right flashlights or it could increase handling efforts as there won't be an universal manual for all versions.

Oh, ok, thanks for the explanation! I was just questioning about having one and not the other in the name of the flashlight! That’s ok for me

Nope, not suggesting that! Actually, please forget my point! I was just worried that people may complain for having/not having an image of a light different from theirs on the manual! But this is not even an issue, so please ignore :innocent:

No worries. Any feedback is very welcome. Thank you! :-)

Maybe we should take these pictures out of the manual as they may not look good coming from a black-white copy machine? :-D

Don’t take the pics out, just convert them so that they DO look good coming from a black/white copy machine!

EDIT: Nah, never mind, I just looked again. They don’t have good lighting to be able to convert successfully. If there’s a probability that they will be printed with black ink only, they should probably be removed, or replaced with better shots.

TheOnlyDocc will ask Jacky if WildTrail prints a colorful manual. This would also be better to read the BISTRO UI chart. Costs should not increase that much, I guess.

And thanks for all the kind words guys. Also thanks to all people involved. Without your help this would not be possible!
It was a really fun to get this nice BLF classic updated to the light it should have been from the start. And i hope that we can get the sale started soon!
Now we need to get the manual finnished so WildTrail can print them. At the moment we are waiting for a few more infos from Jacky (he is on to it) and a few more infos from Lexel regarding his driver.

Thanks again and i hope this will be only the stating point for future projects.

Next draft of the manual...(still awaiting Lexels feedback).

I fixed some minor things and exchanged the two pictures of the BLF D80 V2 by an exploded drawing, supplemented by a description of what is what.

Cheers,

Thomas

At the hint section:
“To lock the flashlight, unscrew the tailcap half a turn …”

Danke Dir Hobo! Wurde soeben geändert. :-)

I talked to Jacky this morning and he was able to get us the information that were missing for the manual. Now we only have to wait for Lexels driver information and then the manual can be printed.
We also talked about the order prozess.
They will set up two offers in their store One with SST-40 and one with XPL-HI led (price 37$).
If someone from BLF or TLF wants to buy the light they have to write their BLF/or TLF name in the order.
Then order the light but do not pay. Then we will check if the people are BLF/TLF member. If yes they will adjust the price down to 27,70$. Then you pay and the light will be send out.
For the people on the no ano list. You have to write no ano light additional to your Forum nick.
Appart from that the order prozess will be the same.
But it is possible that the sale has to be pushed back a few days. Because Jacky got a phone call from the hospital a few minutes after we finnished talking. His wife is in labour right now.
I wish him and his family all the best in the world and i hope he will let us know if everything is ok (and if its a boy or a girl).

Is it too late to get in on this? I know the no ano ones are all taken, but can I be put down for a standard SST-40 if possible please.

No its not to late! The sale will start soon and the mat black version can be bought by everybody. And as a BLF member you will get a discount if you follow the instructions i posted above.
