✌ FREEME - ASTROLUX MF01S 15000lm Flashlight Group Buy - ENDED

The D18 which uses sst-20 and is smaller than this light does about 2,000 continous @ 45C in a 22° room with light air flow (Toykeeper’s test).

I would expect much more from the MF01S with xp-g3 and it’s bigger size. Plus you can set the thermal stepdown a bit higher, like 55°C.

Unfortunately the sst-20 emitter runs hot and has a lot less output so the efficiency is way down. I don’t know what the sst-20 version might do continously, but should be higher than D18.

No, it’s just a characteristic of the silver or “clear” colored anodizing. Same is true with Convoy when they started using that color.

My understanding based on previous discussions and pictures is the aux leds work as a color based battery voltage indicator. When the batteries are full or close to, blue, pink and green leds are on toward the middle and outer part of the optic. Then, when voltage deceases, the green leds shut down, blue and pink stays on. At some point when the voltage becomes low, blue and pink shut down and red leds turn on in the center of the optic. When the voltage is really low, all aux leds are off. See aux board design in first post.

I don’t think this can be changed or configured… apart from brightness or blinking. Trimmers on the aux board allow some play too.

Lexel designed it so he could certainly clear things up.

Button tops are available upon request. It’s wrapped nicely rather have to manually solder or add magnets/discs.

With Samsung batteries its mostly a little different. Therefore I have tested 25R now. And they work in the flashlight too.

The white disc has rised edges that fits exactly on the circle gap of most/all batteries at the positive end. The contact point is lower as the edges of the white ring but higher as the other parts of the white disc. Thats why it works as polarity protection as well. And it works with lower flat tops as they are used on Samsung batteries.

I think I see what you mean.

Most 18650 cells look like this under the wrapper.

So the raised lip on the white discs basically press into the white wrapper area on a 30Q, or similar, which has nothing under it. The plastic wrapper just flexes and allows for contact.

Ah, this makes sense now. I know there were some people that had issues with flat tops not working back when Astrolux first came out with this design. Maybe they tweaked the white disc shape to make it more precise.

I wonder why the manufacturer specifies using button top? Just to guarantee it will make contact because some flat top 18650 are made a bit differently? Maybe.

If this chart is saying the MF01S does only 84,000cd then something doesn’t add up, the Emisar D1S is suppose to do 120,000cd and my MT09R all springs bypassed out throws my D1S and MT18S all springs bypassed noticably out throws my MT09R so how on earth can the MT18S only be doing 84,000cd? doesn’t make any sense! lol

Comparison shots of my MT18S (modified, all springs bypassed) VS my MT09R (modified, all springs bypassed), The MT18S surprisingly out throws the MT09R’s relatively deep reflectors with such small optics, very impressive light.

Got my purple today.

Few pics from phone camera.

So far i like it but unsure if there are any issues.

Time will tell!!

Moved.

I’m guessing your measuring distance by eye because you don’t have a lux meter?

The easiest thing would be to buy a lux meter, about $20-$35, and measure your lights, then you will know exactly.

I can’t really answer your question other than to say that the eye can be deceptive.

Is your MT09R the xhp35-HI version?

Nice! Still waiting for mine.

Pulse blinks :sunglasses:

XHP70.2 version, if my eyes are deceptive then it’s sure doing a good job, my MT18S is lighting up far away objects alot better than my MT09R is noticably, I first thought my eyes were playing games on me at first but everytime i turn both of them on side by side MT18S is lighting up far objects better everytime.

Great info mate. Many thanks. I have contacted Aliya and very true that they can supply button top upon request.

I’d pull the trigger for 20 pcs 30Q(both button top and flat top). Hope that they can expedite the proceed.

It does actually seem like it’s outthrowing the MT09r. What cells are you using?

in both lights i was using the Vapcell H25 (Samsung 25S rewraps and flat tops to reduce resistance), the most powerful 2500mAh 18650 in the market today according to lygte-info.dk

Red, Purple, Green and Blue

will be DISCONTINUED!

This makes me rather worried that I’ll never see my purple MF01S. Even if I manage to somehow send back the (boring black) light without it costing me an arm and a leg, I guess by the time they’ll receive it there’s a pretty good chance that none of the ‘special’ colours will be left.

EDIT: I just realised that they didn’t even get the colour temperature right - SST-20 5000K instead of 4000K! :person_facepalming:

I ever shipped back my received items to their China office once. I can't speak for others, but BG got refunded within 2 days after i submitted me tracking code to them.
