For all tint freaks, test yourself

I got a 4 age 65 and I have Tritanopia

What I got:

Not bad for someone that trusts his ears far more than his eyes (I’m 4.0 nearsighted on both eyes and a lazy right eye, though thankfully no astigmatism).

I got a 0. I guess I’m a tint freak now. Is that how it works?

I scored 4, age 66

I wear bifocals, have trouble reading street signs, have cataracts and CSR, with essentially no vision in the center 50% of my left eye.

.

my favorite LED is the N219b 4500k 9080 sw45k, and I dislike green tint with a passion. I dislike my 6500k Optisolis due to the tint above the BBL. I generally dislike 219c LEDs, because I find them too yellow/green.

What color is this dress?

Green and Light Green…maybe yellow green?

Just kidding…. white/gold but it is probably Black and Blue

All the balls are the same color.

Either you ninja-edited this or what display I’m using has a huge impact on that pic. I know there’s a confirmed answer after it went viral but if you didn’t swap pics I can see where the arguments came from over it haha

Yep, depending on what device you view the dress, it can appear blue/black or white/gold.

try scrolling down until only the bottom half of the dress is showing
that was the only way I saw any blue/black in it

and then having seen the blue/black then that’s all I can see
before I only saw white gold in this and other online images

I just got a 4. Age 25

Ah the dress. Brought to you by bad lighting, bad photography, and a monitor with no color calibration. It leaves so much to guess for your brain.

you are bypassing the fundamental conundrum which is not a figment

I’m not sure what you are saying. I was saying your brain interprets the color wrong because of the mix of indoor/outdoor lighting, the fool that got to close with the camera to get any context to the shot, and the tendency of monitors to be setup to exaggerate colors instead of render them correctly. All this assaults your brain’s ability to determine if the dress is in a shadow. Resulting in a failure to adjust your vision to the scene.

and because I initially saw white/gold and now only see blue/black?

under the exact same conditions?

That makes sense, there is conflicting info in the image. After you found out you were wrong, your brain tried again and paid attention to different clues.

wtf is the conflicting info
it is an image much like any other image
can we ever consider an info from the internet other than what it is

YouTuber ‘Captain Disillusion’ did a video about the dress. Actually, his guest host ‘Mr. Flare’ did a video about it.

It seems that mixed lighting and white balance issues led to a confusing photo.

The dress is blue and black.

BTW, if you enjoy learning about visual & special effects, check out the rest of Captain Disillusion’s YouTube channel.

Just Google for “color constancy” and it is all explained.

OK, yous guys are above my level of consistency
I only know what I saw
and I did see it
