Code MY9WWF8L is till working. Ordered one for my family living on the beach in Florida. During turtle season, they are only allowed to use red flashlights on the beach to avoid disturbing the turtles. They will love this light- my family, not the turtles
The code worked form me yesterday but I’m on the fence and cancelled the order. Changed my mind today and coupon code not working. Sorry, won’t pay full price because the battery life is not good; 26650 run-time is only on par with other flashlights using 16650.
##EDIT## I was wrong, see my update a few posts below
Maybe so but it’s still more than with the coupon and by the time you take battery life into account and replacing the 395nm LED with a proper 365nm LED it seems not worth it.
Dog gamut, you’re right! I was looking at run-times for the red LED’s which are of course much less per lumen due to visual sensitivity drop-off in the longer wavelengths! This light no doubt uses a synchronous buck-boost SEPIC chip from TI or something similar, or at least I hope it’s not buck-only.
And so I re-purchased the light and I want to get the 265nm version of the original LG LED from AliExpress but I’m not sure this is the 2W version as is required:
This looks to be the correct UV LED for modification to 365nm:
Part Number: LEUVA33W70RL00
Flux bins: RP4=2160mW - RP1=1625mW
FwdV bins: V1=3.3V - V6=4.3V http://led.lginnotek.com/
The LG has fairly low visible leakage (Luminus even better) so I shouldn’t need no ZWB2 filter after I bang it in. I hope someone figures out how to conjure the LED substrate out from behind the glass. My hotplate and hot air are ready!
In the Amazon sale ad, I see the orange 4800 5000ma battery has changed to a white 26650 with Wurrkos brand label. Hope its as good as the already tested orange one. Prolly is.
I was expecting a smaller light but am happy it was larger than expected. The specs in the ad are wrong. It’s @ 37mm at the head. 29mm at the tube and 33mm at the tail.
The length is 4 & 7/16 inches. (Can’t find my long caliper duhhh)
