[USA] ☀︎ Illumn: PB2S Blue, Red, Yellow. FW1A (waiting on SST-20), FW3A in stock and shipping

How does the 210C 4000K compare to the SST-20 4000K FD1?
Do you know what the tint bin and CRI is for the 219C 4000K?
which is rosier?

The SST20 is rosier than the 219C in this batch of lights. I can ask Lumintop which tint bin and CRI but they're super bad at responding.

What output are you comparing them at? Can you compare a lower level and see?

Higher outputs mostly. That's interesting, at a lower level the 219C seems rosier.

That is what people want to know (IMO). Across its whole output range the SST-20 can shift a huge amount from pretty high above BBL to look awful to right at or below BBL at max output.

The 219C, LH351D, XP-L HI do not do this as much. 219B has a pretty big shift too but it's a bit different. It seems to shift quick and just stay there. SST-20 shift follows current very evenly.

How will your price compare to other sellers (e.g. Neal’s Gadgets) for the new versions?

I feel your prices for the FW3A and FW3C options currently listed are very reasonable compared to overseas sellers.

I think many stateside would rather purchase them from you due to the quicker and more transparent shipping and the high level of customer service you provide. My experience with Neal has been great so far (minus slow communication on occasion), but waiting for “the slow boat” and wearing out the refresh button on tracking sites makes my stomach turn. I’ve purchased a number of things from Illumn, and never had a single issue.

We will attempt to match or come as close as possible. People sometimes forget we're actually a family run 3 man op here at Illumn, not some massive corporation.

From what I’ve seen, you communicate like a big ’ol corporation (in that you are quick) provide service like a small shop (you give at least 2 *). I imagine that importing the lights has a cost associated with it, and then there is the risk/cost of having your capital tied up in inventory. I respect what you guys do.

I will probably order any additional FW3Whatevers from your store, but I’m tapped for now (my wife is so far unaware that we now have a “flashlight” item in our discretionary budget).

You guys are the best! Thanks for opening up a brick and mortar location! Every time I go in there’s always something new to see.

Interest list:
Purple 219C, in honor of TK, for me.

Neal is offering a 25% off code if you post a photo of your light(s) in the main thread AND PM your order number. He, or whomever he wants, can then connect User Names with actual names and addresses. Not worth it to me to get an additional 5% (or 50% for that matter) especially since I have had two earlier issues with him. No thank you.

CS side of Illum /”Calvin” family has been proven to me and is worth much more than that to me. I TRUST Illum.com and his family company.
(And, Yes, I know his real name!)
Cheers!

Thank you for the endorsement. It's definitely difficult to compete against China.

Glad to see it becoming more popular as of late!

Do you mean Craig? That's my brother, depending on how you contact us determines who will respond. He handles most of the support@illumn.com emails and I'll do Reddit, BLF, etc.

Same here, if the price is about the same, I rather buy from Illumn. Excellent customer service and super quick shipping!

Thanks for all your support everyone! If people are wondering why pre-order listings are not up yet, we've been told we can't "pre-sell" them to "allow for BLF/TLF members to pre-order them" from a.....select not-to-be-named overseas retailer. Judging by their previous track record fulfilment speed we'll still likely get them in your hands stateside faster than they would anyways.

And all he contributed IMHO was to slow the project down… :person_facepalming: :rage:

I believe there was a fair amount of effort spent on communicating with Lumintop and actually getting the thing produced. I feel his contribution was a net positive to the project. I’ve had good experiences with his shop as well.

Without someone stepping in this is all Lumintop is able to produce. The same design over and over. So regardless of what we think about the process it’s necessary to get what we want.

Yea that’s what I’ve read too in that long thread. He contributed a significant amount of time and effort on the project. If it weren’t for “him” facilitating the communications, the FW3A would still be in perpetual development state. Lumintop is known to be extremely bad at communicating. I made many purchases on that overseas online store and never had any bad experiences. But for these new FW3A, I will still buy it from Illumn to support our local shop and excellent customer service. Shipping is also unbelievably fast.

I’m interested in a purple 219C

The logo on the switch is kind of cool… not for me, but cool nonetheless.

BTW, how did you directly post a picture (as opposed to linking to an image hosting site). Maybe I’m not interpreting what I’m seeing correctly, but this seems to be what you’ve done.

It’s “direct” but I got it from a google image search I didn’t convert it to this.
