I just tested the GT Micro with the known best 14500 cells on the market. The new Shockli 14500 1000 mah matches the output of the previous king of high current 14500, Windyfire 600mah but with much more capacity. Very impressive. The output with these cells make this light almost as bright as the GT Mini and D1S. The Shockli also beats Sanyo UR14500P by a large margin, which was the previous best overall 14500.
nassagus, check to be sure your emitter isn’t grounding on the negative pad at the MCPCB, a small solder ball from the re-flow can do this. Use a multi-meter to check at the bottom of the MCPCB and the negative pad, if it has continuity you need to re-flow the emitter again.
Yeah I can’t help myself. Check a bookmarked Lightning Deals page and next thing you know I am one-click ordering a non-essential light (but after 2 or 3 how many are really essential anyways).
I try to at least not by something too similar to what I already have. This one is rather unique.
Yep, I gave in as well… My first 2020 gift to myself !
On my last hike I used the FW3A, but the throw was simply too low to see far enough on critical parts at night. I hope this can fill that void. Weight to throw ratio looks promising! Good enough excuse to convince myself I NEED another light
I’ve kept the total to around 20 working lights. I convinced myself I did a fair job in not buying too many shelf queens.
I guess I have a kinda weak month. Think I’ll blame the awesome LT1. I have 5 in the mail at the moment… Still looking for the perfect right angled flashlight. Maybe 2020 is a good moment to stop making excuses
