Yes, flashlight’s max current draw will be 1.75A. Theoretically it could be up to 1.9A as there are 0.38A rated 7135s but not likely. Either way, amp draw is low, any quality brand cell can do that. Aim for higher total capacity for longer run times.
If the driver doesn’t have LVP (low voltage protection), a protected cell could be a good idea as a safeguard against over discharging the cell. Other than that, as long as the cell fits it doesn’t really matter if it’s protected or not. I don’t remember if the S2 fits protected cells, I’d guess so but it’s only a guess.
