Good 17mm Driver?

I’m looking for a 17mm driver for an upcoming project. I did some shopping around and holy smokes there are so many! I’m looking to run an sst40 at maximum power (6A) off probably a 30Q or 18650GA. I’m thinking of a fet+7135 for direct drive and some regulation. The 7135-based drivers don’t put out the power I’d like to get unless there are 12 chips on it!

Which do you all recommend? There are ones from overseas (looking at Sofirn New C8A C8T Driver) for around $10 shipped or one from Richard at Mtn. (17DDm) for like $14 shipped.

Thanks!

This one is fully regulated and can be configured as your heart desires.

LD-A4 2-12Amp 17mm constant current driver

That looks nice. Is it ready to go or do I need to add anything (excluding wires/spring)? If I have them add the high current spring it’s under $15 usd shipped which is reasonable for a quality driver. I think it’s this one or the one from Mtn.

I’ve used a few of the ones from Mtn with good results. If your light has an electronic/momentary switch, be sure to select that option when ordering. You can run Anduril on them if you wanted.

I have one of his drivers in a chopped mini mag triple with 5 modes, and it is pretty slick. It was my first mod.

It’s ready to go, i advice you to take a look at the datasheet for this driver, it is fairly advanced and it can be configured in may ways, it should fit your needs just fine.

I took a look at the data sheet. That thing is crazy configurable! So many optional functions and features like external temp probe. I decided on the one from Mtn only because I’ve bought from him before,it’s in the USA and I can combine the order with the host for a discount. Thanks for your suggestion!

I’ve bought parts from Richard before and have been 100% satisfied. Prices are good. I do have to get thr LED from the Orient though as it’s out of stock

Before I buy the driver from Mtn, what about the BLF A6 Fet+1 drivers I see on Aliexpress for like $5? Half of what Mtn are with the really nice firmware UI. Specs look identical Anyone used these?

Thanks
