Measuring m43 mcpcb at 4v and emitters dont turn on, help!

Hi all, going through a reflow. I tested each emitter on the mcpcb by touching the anode and cathode side, all emitters individually light up but when I touch the leads to the mcpcb, none of them light up. Is there a short in the mcpcb or do I need to up the voltage when testing the mcpcb directly?

Measure the resistance between the mcpcb's positive and negative pads. If there's a short, you should be getting a reading.

Also, I am speculating that you might have soldered the emitters in reverse polarity. In that case, the emitters should light up after you reverse the leads.

Dale helped clarify in another thread. I was only testing the mcpcb at 3v. I bumped up the power to 6.9v and all 12 emitters showed a faint light, just enough to test my reflow. Thanks for circling back so quickly bilakos! Love how people are very active here

Ah, I totally missed the fact that the meteor is wired in series

Good for you that you figured everything out!

Some of us are maybe TOO active, look at my post count…. :person_facepalming:

Congrats on 20,000 posts!
